Here in these verses we see that God was working in both Cornelius and Peter to bring them together so that Peter would preach the gospel to Cornelius, so that he and his household would be saved. I am saying that sometimes it takes God’s sovereign work in leading us, to bring us to the place where we will share the gospel to a particular person who we might not think about sharing it with them. But God is fully able to show us what we should do. This morning I want to speak to you about God’s ability to show us what we should personally do in evangelism; the sharing of the glorious gospel of His Son, with people around us. I want to show you what God showed Peter, and apply what we learn, to ourselves. 1st of all – God showed Peter, and He will often show us, what He practically would have us to do, in the midst of our times of prayer. 2nd – God showed Peter, and He has shown us through this vision, that He will lead us to witness to all kinds of people in order that they might be saved And 3rd – God showed Peter, and He will often show us, by His providence, the particular person or persons who He would have us to share with. Let us pray to have a tender heart to these truths; to be sensitive to the Lord’s leading when it comes to our sharing the gospel with people around us. Let us pray that God Himself would lead us and teach us, with regard to sharing the gospel with people around us.
