This morning I want to speak to you about the Spirit’s work and Peter’s words. I want to attempt to show you 1st of all – That it is only by the Spirit’s working that mistaken conceptions can be corrected, and God’s truth be brought to light. (verses 24-32) 2nd – It is only by the Spirit’s working that the glory of God and the Lord Jesus are set forth in the preaching of the word. (verses 33-43) And 3rd – It is only by the Spirit’s working that the hearts and minds of men are convinced of the truth of the word and brought to embrace it. (verses 44-48) To make these points more simple, think of it this way. Together we are now going to consider the Holy Spirit’s work of illumination, His work of anointing, and His work of pouring Himself out on the hearers of the word. Let us pray to receive these truths so that the work of the Holy Spirit will be more clearly seen by each one of us.
