You never present the Gospel and nothing happens. The mission field will always be a battlefield where Satan marshal's his forces to thwart the Gospel being carried forward. He continues opposing the witnesses of Jesus Christ who are proclaiming the truth of the Gospel in love because He is relentless in his war against God.
As Paul and Barnabas shared the Gospel there were many who heard, believed and were saved. Nonetheless they were also met head on by strong rejection and opposition. These reactions served to identify and separate out the genuine believers as their changed lives became a living testimony to the locals around them.
God in His plan used the pressure from the strong rejection to move the message on to other communities.
Although locations and faces changed, neither Paul's method nor the message he preached ever changed.
