The man who wanted Jesus to adjudicate his inheritance dispute with his brother was greedy. He may have been in the right, as far as law was concerned, but his priorities and demands were covetous nontheless. The man in the parable that Jesus then told was a fool. He had barns full of food and when his crop produced wonderfully, he decided to build bigger barns. He was rich toward himself, but not toward God. He had his plans. He had a nice retirement planned out. He was going to take his ease, eat, drink and be merry in the closing chapter of his life. But God had other plans. God was to take the man's soul that very night. The man was a fool. He was hyper prepared with food storage, but bankrupt in his preparations for eternity. What kind of a prepper are you? Are you well insured and insulated from all imagined calmaities in this life, but have no rational plan for your eternal comfort? If so, you are a fool, and you should repent immediately. You have very little time to work with.
