Contentment is a rare virtue because Christians are rare. Christians are content. What is contentment? In 1 Timothy 6, Paul defines it as being satisfied with food and clothing. So, are you content? The opposite of being content with food and clothing is desiring to be rich, which is also called "the love of money." Do you desire to be rich? Be honest. Hear the warning of scritpture. Those who desire to be rich fall into many temptations, snares, and into ruin and destruction. Some leave the faith because they really love money, not Christ. "Money love" is a snare that Satan has used for millennia to catch many sinners in his trap. Apart from the power of God and the goodness of His grace, there is no escaping the snare that Satan lays.
