Becoming a believer does not mean that suffering, trials, and difficulties are no longer a part of this life in our present world. It does mean that there is the enabling power and presence of the Holy Spirit of God so that those hard times not times of going solo without the Lord. The presence of the Holy Spirit also means that as those difficulties come they will not serve to destroy or harm the believer but are used by God to mature, strengthen, and conform the character of each one to that of Jesus Christ. As sure as it is that entering into a relationship with God by any and every sinner is because of God's plan, the Son's provision of His life and death, and the Spirit's application of those to the individual, is it certain that all that is experienced and endured in this life is beneficial. There is nothing haphazard, random, incidental, or meaningless in God's plan, purpose, and work the lives of those He chooses to save.
