When Adam sinned he did the same thing the devil did when he fell. He chose self exultation over God and disobeyed a clear command. According to Justice there was no more reason that God should extend salvation to man than to the devil. However God promised a savior for mankind but the tragedy is that when in the fullness of time Christ appeared the world did not recognize him. His own people who had the clear messianic promises did not recognize him, but it does not end there. Those who receive him are brought back into the closest relationship with God, that of a child to a father. We become children of God in Christ. The beauty of the Gospel is not that we get heaven but that we get God as our father. To walk in that relationship is the highest calling in life. Receiving Christ as a starting point, but it is also a constant growing process.
