John the Baptist was not only the last of the old covenant Prophets that announced the coming of the Messiah; he was a type and an example of every true minister of the gospel. He did not come to promote himself or his ministry but as a faithful witness. God has a special calling for every believer and for the church as a whole. It is to be a faithful witness to the testimony of Jesus. He stands before the throne and represents us and he has called us to stand before this devil controlled world and accurately represent him. This is what the anointing and the Ministry is all about. We have only one thing to offer the world; it is Christ and Christ alone.
