Theme: Followers of Christ should "always pray and not lose heart." In v. 1, Jesus gives the meaning of the parable. We need to be resolute in our prayers. In vv. 2-5, Jesus tells the parable of the unjust judge and the widow. Jesus is showing that we must beware of discouragement in prayer and persevere through it. In vv. 6-8, the application is given. Jesus teaches that we must remember God's character, and be certain that God's justice will prevail. In this passage, we have a call to action in the midst of war. Don't grow weary in praying; though it may seem like the enemy is winning, he is not. Be faithful and persevere to the end. Commit that you will pray for yourself, your family, your brothers and sisters in church, and around the world, and keep at it! Our Father hears and will answer!
