Two things are characteristic of a maturing believer as Paul talks about. He loves the Word and he loathes sin. Delights in God's Word and he hates sin. You know what we've seen in our day among those who profess to be a believer? A growing indifference to the study of the Word of God, to indepth consideration of the truth. We have a growing tolerance of sin, an acceptance of it. You talk to Christians today about inconsistencies in their life and what do they say, Nobody's perfect. Let him who is without sin cast the first stone. What do we say? I can live with a little sin in my life. Paul says I never can. It never becomes acceptable. Do you have that sensitivity to sin? Praise God. Don't do anything to dull it. The more you delight in His Word, the more you will hate the sin that is so contrary to His Word.
