There are some things that the Bible does not tell us, but how important it is to seek, that we may know the will of God. We need to pray abour our future; our plans, the choices we have to make, and how the results of our decisions fit into God's will for our lives.
As Christians we are "transformed" by the "renewing" of our minds. The knowledge of God's will affects and embraces the whole person, is not just an itellectual exercise, and through our seeking His will, God is able to shape us.
As we are "filled with the knowledge of His will", we are able to recognise dangers, we grow, we bring experience to bear, we are deepened as people, are able to learn from our mistakes, and our characters are refined and deepened.
In seeking to know the will of God there are no shortcuts! Everything will cost us something, indeed prayer and our prayer-life can sometimes be hard. We need to apply ourselves and watch, examining ourselves that we may be jealous in desiring to do the will of God. Read the Bible, believe in its sufficiency, and be assured that God can and does work through His word. Remember that we are building for the future, and expect God to speak to us.
