There are several covenants specifically recorded in the Scriptures as having been made by God with various people at distinct times in history. The covenant of works and the covenant of grace, as espoused by many, are not among those in the biblical record.
The promises in the covenant made by God with Abraham had three aspects, the promise of descendents, a land, and a blessing that would be beneficial to all nations and people groups. All three of these aspects are later expanded on in the bible's history as God revealed more details.

Both are likewise promised they will face the severity of God's wrath against their sin if Christ is rejected as Lord and Savior.
