We’re spending considerable time on Genesis 3:15 because it is essential to know how the “interface” between the human nature of Jesus Christ works with His Devine nature. This passage also speaks of how God/Jesus will crush Satan’s system of sin-evil-death. Satan’s rebellion and the origin of sin, and consequently our sin, and the question of why did God allow sin, death and free will, is of great importance. “And what about the Angelic host? Why did God do this free will thing?”
Our wandering around with these ideas has led us to 2 Samuel 24 and 1 Chronicles 21. God kills 70,000 military men because of what David did, and it has something to do with 2 Samuel 21 where Saul thinks it’s okay to kill Gibeonites. And if you can figure out Satan’s motive, because he’s involved in this too, then you can find out the motives of David and Saul. See, it’s simple... okay, maybe not.
And because of Genesis 3:15 we’re also asking: In which garden did the bruising of the heel of the seed of the woman occur? Was it Gethsemane or Golgotha? And that’s just in the first 7 minutes of the lecture.
If you’re just coming into this study, you might be a little confused at this point. So if you want to go back and listen to a few lectures before this one, you won’t be disappointed.
But our pastor takes a little break here to discuss things that are paralyzing to Christians. Two books have come out recently; The God Delusion and God Is Not Great.
He does get back to the lecture, so all of you faithful listeners will still get some of what you want.
Write down the questions you’re struggling with and contact this pastor. He’d like to hear from you.
