Before the final events of the last three and one-half years of the tribulation are revealed, a preview is being given of the results of the tribulation, providing the believer with great encouragement. While Christ is previewed in His victory and taking His place on Mount Zion, so too is the doom of Babylon to destruction and the wicked, Satan, and his angels being cast into eternal hell.
The focus for God's people must always be kept on the end as they keep on doing the will of God, trusting their relationship with Him through Jesus Christ to ultimately deliver.
This focus calls for a "pro-active" perseverance. Being patient in the midst of trials and difficulty with hope, joy, and praise to God while being wholeheartedly dependent upon Him to sustain. Suffering then glory is the order of circumstances God allows and uses in our lives to conform us to the likeness of Christ's character. Trials develop the strength of character that nothing else will. Pain is wearing, but must always be remembered as being finite and purposeful. The blessings of bearing up under the pain will far surpass the cost and effort, forever. Knowing these truths are to shape us and counsel us in how to endure today as we go through troubles and struggles.
