Jesus is both our Savior and our example. He demonstrated for us what it looked like to live a life that is well pleasing to God. John would later say in 1 John 2:6 “He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.” Therefore his entire life should be a pattern for ours. Jesus entire life was about doing the will of the father. In other words Jesus came to fulfill the purpose that the father had for his life. If we are called as his disciples then we must seek him through the Holy Spirit for his direction in ministry to the brethren and to the lost world. Only then will we as individuals and as a church and as individuals fulfill our calling in this world.
