We are looking at the words that Calvinism misuses in the estimation of this teacher. We have covered the words grace, sovereignty and election. We now want to look at the word foreknowledge and then at the word translated by the phrase "new birth". The word "foreknowledge" is used only twice in Scripture, but because in one passage it becomes very difficult for Calvinists to harmonize it with unconditional election, it is twisted out of its very simple meaning of "to foreknow."
With regard to the new birth, the question is this; does it take place before repentance and faith or after? For the teaching of the TULIP to be maintained, it must happen after because only the elect can repent and believe. This is what we look at in this session.
