SALVATION FOR WHOSOEVER ...
Some say, “I believe in whosoever salvation – salvation for all, not just some.
They speak contrarily to God’s Word. Salvation is for “whosoever believeth in Jesus Christ” (John 3:15, 16), but not for whosoever will not believe in Him. Salvation is for “whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord” (Romans 10:13), but not for whosoever will not call upon His name. Salvation is for “whosoever will come” to Christ (Revelation 22:15), but not for whosoever will not come. And salvation most certainly is not for “whosoever loveth and maketh a lie” (Revelation 20:15)

WE ARE NOT JUSTIFIED BY THE LAW
The Scripture distinctly teaches us that we are not justified by the law nor is the law a rule of life. That which can only curse can never justify and that which can only kill can never be a rule of life (Romans 3:20). Both the Jews who had received the law and the Gentiles who had never had the law were now to be saved through grace (Acts 15:11). Not only were they to be saved by grace, but also they were to “stand in grace” (Romans 5:2) and to grow in grace” (II Peter 3:18). All who seek to put believers under the law are tearing down the very foundations of the Christian faith. Listen to the strong words which came from the Holy Spirit in Galatians 5:12; “I would they were even cut off which trouble you.”

The law offends us because it tells us what to do; grace offends us even more because it tells us we can’t do anything!

WHAT ABOUT JOHN 3:16?
People who believe that Christ died for everyone - to give every son of Adam a “chance” to be saved, always bring up John 3:16 as evidence that Christ died for everyone. They fail to realize that one verse of scripture never makes other verses of scripture untrue. The scriptures make it obvious that God does not love everyone. “The Lord trieth the righteous, but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth.” (Ps. 11:5). “Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.” (Rom. 9:13). It is also obvious that Christ did not die for everyone. Scripture makes it clear that Christ died only for His elect people. “For the transgression of MY PEOPLE was he stricken” (Is. 53:8). “Thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save HIS PEOPLE from their sins.” (Matt. 1:23). “I pray not for the world, but for THEM WHICH THOU HAST GIVEN ME; for they are thine.” (John 17:9). So we see Christ only loves His people and only died for His elect.
So what about John 3:16? In no way does John 3:16 contradict the rest of scripture. The word “world” in scripture never means all men of the world without exception. It means people from the world without any man made distinction of nationality, race, color, or background. We must read scripture in context. Our Lord was talking to Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. The Savior was telling Nicodemus that He not only saves Jews, but He saves Gentiles too. The word “world” also means the way of the world (Rom 12:2, I John 2:15). The word “world” also means a geographical area (Mark 16:15), but it never means all men. When the Lord Jesus said, “God so loved the world”, He showed us the scope of God’s love. He meant that God loved a world of sinners fallen in Adam. God didn’t love any of the fallen angels, so He didn’t send them a Savior. But, God loved some fallen men who are of the world, so He sent His Son to redeem them (Heb. 2:16).
If John 3:16 means that God loves everyone and Christ died for everyone yet God sends people that He loves to hell, then God’s love is worthless, and the death of Christ is worthless. The scriptures tell us that cannot be so.
Thank God He saves sinners from a world that does not deserve God’s love! Thank God for the scope of God’s love and the power of the blood of Christ which makes John 3:16 a loving truth that guarantees the eternal salvation of the beloved elect of God!
