So 100% the Bible teaches man cannot lift a finger to save himself even in the act of repentance and faith, man is only acting out what God has wrought through being born again of Gods Spirit. Regeneration. No goodness in man naturally toward God. Being born again means nothing of old self, if we merely co-operate with God in being converted its not being born again from on high rather it’s the same self co-operating with God….why are we told the life we live is by faith in Son of God and we leave old self dead on the cross, world crucified to us and us to world…what is this old self this I! its crucified it’s the corruption of the old life (Rom Chp 6), nothing good about old life its meant to be dead and we live risen in Christ (Rom 6 v1-6), if there be any good in it spiritually that somehow would co-operate with God in anyway at any time why are we told to leave it buried with Christ? in baptism (Rom6) why are we told we are dead and married to another? because nothing but nothing of the old must enter the new wine, meant in old sins, nothing. If you say something you did the co-operating then you deny this fundamental truth of being born again not of flesh or the will of man but will of God, soon as you say something you bring and co-operate there is no new birth the old self part of it is still there, therefore its not you must be born again but that you must be co-operating with God and then your saved which equals salvation by works, call it what you will, decision, co-operate, faith, it still comes down to mans will deciding, not God, its mans part not all of Grace, this can’t be .(Eph2v 11) Gods workmanship, not man and God. EWhen born nothing to do with you, same here Christ said…nothing at all, did ask to be born? Did you decide to be born or have any say in it? You did nothing at all? correct. Away with such pride Gods glory Gods church Gods new birth not us lest we boast and surely we would if we could claim something of Salvation is of us,. .No argument. Only pride. Submit to The Word .Sovereign Grace means God is saving not us co-operating who would win if wills clashed ?God. So we can only be saved if God wills its not our week sinful corrupt seed that wills it with God, you see that goes against whole bible to say we can add anything to salvation even faith. The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked says Bible, would such a heart co-operate with Gods Holy will?
