Gods Power - Psalm 62:11

The power of God is that ability and strength, by which He can bring to pass whatsoever He pleases. It is His power that gives life and action to what He has purposed from the foundation of the world. How vain would the will of God be without power to carry it out? Without His power His mercy would be feeble pity, His promises empty words.

Gods power is like Himself, infinite, eternal, incomprehensible, "No man can stay His hand". "God hath spoken once" (Ps. 62:11) Does he need to speak more than once? What else is necessary? In creation it says; "He spake and it was done, he commanded and it stood fast" (Ps. 33:9).

If we want to create something we have to get tools and materials and most of the time it doesn't come out the way we would like, BUT NOT GOD! He made the world out of nothing, and in saving us he made something out of nothing, To God be the glory great things he has done.

As he spoke the world into existence and now upholds it by the power of word, it is by the power of his word he saves his people. He said; " my sheep hear my voice", "being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever" (1 Pet. 1:23).

This glorious God is worthy of our worship, adoration and trust. Nothing is too hard for him. No prayer is too hard for him to answer. No need too great for him to supply. No passion too strong for him to subdue, no temptation too powerful for him to deliver from, no misery to deep for him to relieve. - Pastor

FAITHFUL TO GOD'S WORD

The nation of Israel was the favored nation of God. But when our Lord came, He found them given over to "teaching for doctrines the commandments of men" and "laying aside the commandments of God." Taking advantage of the blindness of the people, they had taught them that this was holiness. To them had been given the law, the service of God, the priesthood, the covenants, the prophets, and the promises. No nation on earth enjoyed so many privileges. But no nation so misused God's blessings. No nation so easily forsook its mercies. They had turned from the worship and the promises found in Deuteronomy and the Psalms, to a religion of "washing of hands, pots, cups, and tables" (MARK 7:4,5,7,8).

Let us learn from this. If we ever start to tolerate these THINGS, there is no telling how far we will go or fall. If we ever leave the KING'S WAY, we will end up washing hands, pots, cups, and tables like the Pharisees. There is nothing we will not do if we turn from GOD'S WORD. - Pastor Milton Howard

HE LOVES ME

Some of our dear friends have been through some severe trials, and others are now suffering in heart and body. All of us wish to witness a good confession and maintain an attitude and conversation which will help and inspire others and glorify our Lord. But pain is pain. The loss of a dear child or mate is overwhelming, and we are still in this body of flesh. Therefore, let it be known to all that we believe and are sure that our Lord is the first cause of all things, and we bless His name and trust His word whatever the circumstances. The following words by CHARLES SPURGEON sum up our confession!

"The Christian knows no change with regard to God. He may be rich today and poor tomorrow; he may be sickly today and well tomorrow; he may be in happiness today and tomorrow be in distress; but THERE IS NO CHANGE WITH REGARD TO HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD. If He loved me yesterday, He loves me today. I am neither better nor worse in God than I ever was. Let prospects be blighted, let hopes be blasted, let joy be withered, let mildews destroy everything; I HAVE LOST NOTHING OF WHAT I HAVE IN GOD!" - Henry Mahan

The Remnant

There is a remnant chosen of God.

Revealed in His own Holy Word.

Chosen ere the world began.

Vessels of mercy, His Sovereign plan.

Whom God has chosen, He foreknew.

Abundant mercy shown them, too.

Whom He called He justified,

Made sons of God and sanctified.

For His own pleasure, for His own praise,

According to His riches of grace.

By the counsel of His will,

Redeemed all those reserved to Himself.

God demands justice, holiness.

Man at his best is filthiness.

O the Sovereign grace that's giv'n

To save His own from all their sin.

So undeserving of His grace,

Yet, He's prepared them a place.

Christ has died for all their sin,

Satisfied God and calls them to Him.

Praise to the Lamb for sinners slain.

He paid the price and knows them by name.

Now to Him who reigns Supreme,

Glory and Majesty we sing.

By Gary Spreacker (Tune: ‘Depth of Mercy' Pg.233)
