Call To Worship
God is our refuge and our strength,
Our ever-present aid;
And therefore, though the earth remove,
We will not be afraid.
A river flows whose streams make glad
The city of our God;
The holy church wherein the Lord
Most High has His abode.
The Lord of Host is on our side,
All blessings to secure;
The God of Jacob is our God,
A refuge strong and sure.
Be still and know that I am God,
O'er all exalted high;
To utmost ends of all the earth
My name shall magnify.
(Tune: "O For A Thousand Tongues")

Proverbs 1:30 "They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof."
I heard my pastor say one time, "you cannot counsel unbelievers." If an unbeliever will not take heed to Christ who is the true counselor, he truly will not take any counsel from Christ's under-shepherds. The only counsel that we have to give is found in his word, and if sinners will not bow to his word then we have nothing to counsel them with. Not until Christ saves a sinner, will he/she receive counsel and instruction; until then they will only hear what they want to hear. "Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word." (Psalm 119:9)

THEY WERE OFFENDED
Matthew 15:12 "Then came his disciples, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Pharisees were offended, after they heard this saying?"
The truth will always offend the offenders of truth. A Gospel that does not offend is not the gospel of God. I would much rather offend men with the truth, than to offend God with a lie.
Justification
Pastor Chris Cunningham
Some say that to speak of the eternal aspect of justification is blasphemous because (they say) it makes void the work of Christ on the cross. This is like saying our eternal election makes void the work of regeneration by the Holy Spirit in time. To limit justification (or salvation) to an event in time is to limit the eternal God and make Him to wait upon something to happen before He can save or justify. The work of Christ on the cross is not just an event in time, but an eternal work (Rev 13:8, Heb 9:12). In Hebrews 9:12, the word "eternal" redemption means "without beginning and end, that which always has been and always will be." In the estimation of the immutable God we always have been, and always will be redeemed by Christ's blood, and therefore just in His sight. May God keep us from arguing whether His work of justifying sinners is like a rope or a spear, and cause us to rejoice in the work itself. It is a work done altogether by Him for the sinner, and EVERYTHING He has done for us in time and eternity is done to the end that we might dwell with Him forever, faultless, unblameable and unreproveable in His sight.

DECLARING GOD AND HIS SON
Pastor Paul Mahan
Modern gospel preaching (so-called) consists of what they call "sharing God's love." Like all the blasphemous things I hear today, this sickens me. Preaching the Gospel is not "sharing God's love", but DECLARING GOD AND HIS SON! The message of the gospel begins with a call to repentance toward a Holy God; a God to be feared. The message of God's love is only given to those who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. Besides, we cannot share with others what does not belong to us. If it is God's love, then it is only God's to bestow and "shed abroad" in the heart...
