Call to Worship
Compared with Christ, in all beside,
No comeliness I see;
The one thing needful, dearest Lord,
Is to be one with Thee.
The sense of Thy redeeming love,
Into my soul convey;
Thyself bestow, for Thee alone,
My All-in-all, I pray.
Less than Thyself will not suffice,
My comfort to restore;
More than Thyself I can not crave,
And Thou cans't give no more.
Loved of my God, for Him again,
With love intense I'd burn;
Chosen of Thee ere time began,
I'd choose Thee in return.
(Tune: Come Holy Spirit, Heavenly Dove)

More and more I am made aware of the importance of worship, prayer, Bible study, and the fellowship of other believers during our earthly journey. "Then they that feared the Lord spake OFTEN one to another; and the Lord hearkened and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before Him for them that feared the Lord, and that thought upon His name" (Mal. 3:16). I need HIM, HIS WORD, AND HIS PEOPLE! By His grace I shall NOT forsake the assembly of believers for any reason; and being like Joshua, the spokesman for my family, I can say, "As for me AND MY HOUSE, we will serve the Lord." To be involved with this world in such a way that week after week, Sunday after Sunday passes by without worship, instruction in righteousness, and fellowship with other believers is UNTHINKABLE! Such would be a miserable existence for His sheep.

DO OR DIE
The law was not subject to Adam's approval, but demanded his obedience. It is, do perfectly or die. Let us this day thank the God of all grace for the Gospel that says, "Look and live." (Isaiah 45:22)
ADVOCATE AND INTERCESSOR
There is an Advocate and Intercessor waiting to present the prayers of those who come to God through Him. That Advocate is the Lord Jesus Christ. He mingles our prayers with the incense of His own almighty intercession. Our prayers, as poor as they are in themselves, are mighty and powerful in the hands of our High Priest and Elder Brother. The bank note without a signature is nothing but a worthless piece of paper. The stroke of the pen gives it all its value. The prayer of a poor child of Adam is a poor, feeble thing in itself, but once indorsed by the hand of the Lord Jesus, it availeth much.

THE CHILL FACTOR
Matthew 24:11-12 "And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold."
The cloudier the day, the colder the weather. The more the sun can be blocked from shining on us, the colder we will be. This is what false prophets do; they, like clouds, block the rays of the Son from shining into the heart by their deceitful message and methods. 2Cor 4:3-4 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. The result of such preaching always leads to abounding iniquity in worship, in the home, and in the work place. Only the gospel coming in the power of the Holy Spirit can break the power of indwelling sin and cause a sinner to truly love God and love his neighbor. A false gospel, no matter how close it is to the real, will produce nothing but cold, dead hypocrites.
How can we avoid such a thing happening to us?
- 1) First, by the Grace of God.
- 2) Always "Try the spirits, whether they be of God." (1John 4:1).
- 3) Be much in fellowship with the Son. (Mat 11:29) He who stays close to the Son will not grow cold.
- 4) Watch and pray.
