News From Pavel & Klara Steiger HCJB Global
Greetings from the Czech Republic and Slovakia! In spite of all the doom and gloom of global recession, we have an exciting report for you. Radio 7 FM 107.7 in Banská Bystrica, Slovakia is reality. All involved parties, special guests and local pastors gathered on March 7th 2009 to attend Banská Bystrica's celebration with HCJB Global and TWR Slovakia.
Special program was transmitted live in Banska Bystrica.
Also satellite link and internet carried the broadcast event. FM signal is strong and reaching potentially about 300,000 listeners in the area.
As we drove through mountainous terrain to Banská Bystrica we monitored FM 107.7 frequency. When we heard the first word our hearts were leaping with joy.
Slovak FM broadcasting is reality Broadcasting testing of Radio 7 FM 107.7 in Banská Bystrica started on January 29, 2009. Praise the Lord! Our prayer is to get seven FM licenses and some low capacity repeaters for valleys in Slovakia.
Thanks to Trans World Radio cooperation. We, HCJB Global Slovakia, own the entire technical equipment of the transmitter while TWR Slovakia owns the broadcasting license and is responsible for programming. We praise our Lord that He gave us unity and spirit of cooperation that goes back to 1987.
The first Sunday in March we attended the appointment of three elders in the church in Ústí which is instrumental for the continuous future of our magazine and books publishing. What a joy it was to see this! There was a lady present who gave an incredible testimony. She is 75 years old and had travelled to 110 countries. She saw as many different
world religions, temples, churches, practiced yoga, etc., was self-sufficient and a non-religious person.
Not long ago she was approached by one of the new elders at a public square in Ústí and he asked her about her faith. She told him that she was not interested in discussing any religion with anyone. However, as she said, he was a nice and polite young man. They started to talk and she became curious. He invited her to go to Bible study. She carefully compared, studied and the Lord changed her heart.
What a victory! She is excited and ready to talk about faith in Christ. What a joy to see another child.

Bill Gardner writes -
"Dear Paul
It was a pleasure to have fellowship with you all last Thursday evening. That pleasure was greatly enriched by the totally unexpected gift from the church. Though the gift was unexpected it was typical of the generous spirit that pervades the church. Maureen joins me in this expression of thanks for your love and kindness as a church."
