Call to Worship
Look upon me, Lord I pray Thee
Let Thy Spirit dwell in mine
Thou hast sought me, Thou hast bought me
Take my heart, and make it Thine.
Nought I ask for, nought I strive for
But Thy grace so rich and free
This Thou givest by the Saviour
He hath all things who hath Thee.
Precious is the name of Jesus
Who can half its worth unfold?
Far beyond angelic praises
Sweetly sung to harps of gold.
Guide me, Oh Thou great Jehovah
Pilgrim through this barren land
I am weak, but Thou art mighty
Hold me with Thy powerful hand.
(Tune: "Jesus Calls Us" p. 374)
Psalm 25:8 "Good and upright is the LORD: therefore will he teach sinners in the way."

Let us not lose heart, grow tired or discouraged, nor become careless and indifferent in our labor of love and works of faith; for it is required of God's servants that they be faithful at all times and under every condition. God has a due season or an appointed time for His harvest and His judgments. This "well-doing" includes the bold preaching of His gospel of grace, faithfulness in worship and witness, persevering prayer for our friends and family, dependable support of our pastors and missionaries, endeavoring to keep the unity and fellowship of the church sweet, and aiding those who are sick and in need. Disappointment and failure should never discourage us; for this, too, is a part of God's purpose.

"I commend you to God" - Acts 20:32
What better instruction could any minister give to his congregation? Don't look to the Law; it will only serve to condemn you. Don't look to religious ceremony; it will only serve to befuddle you. Don't look to yourself; it will only serve to make you self-righteous. Don't even look to the preacher; he is a sinner and needs grace just like you. Look to the Lord Jesus Christ to provide all things in salvation. He is made to the believer wisdom, righteousness, sanctification and redemption (I Corinthians 1:30). Keep looking always to Him (Hebrews 12:1-2, Isaiah 45:22). ~ Pastor Tom Harding
"A wise man feareth, and departeth from evil: but the fool rageth, and is confident." - Proverbs 14:16
Peter said in II Peter 1:8, "If these things be in you and abound (these things are mentioned in vs. 5-7 - faith, virtue, knowledge, temperance, patience, godliness, brotherly kindness, and charity),they make you that ye shall be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ." Conversely, if these things are not in us, we are barren and unfruitful in the knowledge of Christ. If these things are not in me, my faith is in theory only. A theoretical faith believes God is sovereign, yet always worries. When I say I believe in forgiveness but hold a grudge; when I say I believe in grace but yet hold people to the law; when I say I am content with Christ and yet I am continually coveting and craving the things of this world; when I say I believe I am the chief of sinners, yet I am easily offended; if I say I believe the doctrines of grace, yet can tolerate that which in contrary to them, then my faith is in theory only. I am barren and unfruitful in the knowledge of Christ. My faith is not that faith of which the Lord Jesus is the author and the finisher.
~Pastor Todd Nibert
NOT ALL HOPE IS HOPE
"They were confounded because they had hoped; they came thither, and were ashamed." - Job 6:20
There will be many who will be confounded when they stand before the Lord and hear Him say; "Depart from me, I never knew you." Many hope to go to heaven and to miss hell. They hope in their morality, their faith, and their works; they hope in everything under heaven, but never in the one seated at Gods' right hand. Jesus Christ is all the hope that God the Father has given to sinners. The only hope that any sinner has in salvation is Christ himself; if I have Him, I have all that God demands. O sinner, make sure that Jesus Christ is the sum and substance of all your hope; if so, all is well. (1Timothy 1:1)
