Prayer For The Local Area:
East Ham ‘We have seen a significant amount of children attend our Sunday School since we changed to the afternoon - we give God thanks for this.'
Brentford ‘The Lord continues to bless us at Ealing Road, Brentford, especially in children's work. We have 30-35 children attending our Tuesday Club, and up to 20 teenagers at our Thursday Club. Pastor Roger and his wife took many of them away to Holiday Bible Camps in August.'
Prayer For The Wider Area:
News from Jean-Claude SOUILLOT - Europresse- French language publishing
Most of 2007 was taken up with restructuring our operations. Over the years, the distribution of the books and administration had gradually taken up most of our time to the detriment of preaching and publishing the Free Grace of God in Christ.
In the Lord's providence, we have been able to offload this aspect of the work by handing it over to a distributor. This has made it possible for us to concentrate more on choosing the books to be published and taking up opportunities to preach the Gospel, both within France and abroad.
February 2008 - Trip to West Africa
For the first time in 6 years, I visited Ivory Coast. This was a bitter-sweet experience as many who claimed to be in the Gospel are now busy with all sorts of pursuits. Yet, Paul N'Goran, my colleague, and one or two younger men are faithful and are trying to hold the fort. The church in Gagnoa, where Paul is the pastor, is doing well.
They have purchased a piece of land and have erected a temporary building. The benches were full when I preached there.
I also went to Lomé, Togo, where we had an open door to preach the Gospel for a whole day to a number of younger men from a Church I had been in contact with for some time. The response was very enthusiastic as the Spirit seemed to have prepared the hearts for this. Of course, the enemy was not idle and we were challenged by his lies, but the Lord enabled us to answer him from the Scriptures.
New opportunities in France
Early in the summer, I was asked to give a presentation of Europresse and set up a bookstall at the annual convention of a small group of churches which was to take place in Chalon. We had never been able to make any real contact with these people in the past because of the message we preach. Yet, the Lord had been at work in the hearts of some of the leaders, and they contacted us to invite us!
The response was very encouraging. In a day and a half, we sold over 2.500 euros' worth of books!

General Announcements:
Holiday Bible Club
We didn't have our planning meeting as suggested, so it is important that those friends willing to help with craft activities give some urgent thought to what they could attempt and to what resources they may need.
