Thought For The Week:
"And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call his name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins." Matthew 1:21
Prayer For The Church:
Please pray that the message given to the residents of David Coffer Court this afternoon may be well received and blessed.
Pray for Mona as she seeks employment.
Pray for our local churches that are without a pastor.
Pray for pastor as he prepares for the carol service next week that this Christmas will be a season of salvation for some that we have been praying for.
Prayer For The Local Area:
Margate
The church correspondent writes: ‘The Church at Margate is in the process of relocating its building. Our Pastor retires in September 2009. One of our young men is earnestly seeking God regarding entry into Bible college - please remember us.'
Prayer For The Wider Area:
India welcomes Carey Outreach Ministries
Perry Edwards recently travelled overseas for two weeks' ministry. He writes, "I praise God for the opportunity He provided through Carey Outreach Ministries to visit India, in order to provide further training for the Pastors in that needy country. During my first week I taught The Book of Acts, and in the second, Early Church History. There were forty two pastors who attended the two week session.
Although I could not understand most of them, a bond began to grow between us as the days went by. I am thankful to the Lord for His goodness and the privilege of serving him in this teaching ministry."
Praising God in the Villages
"During some of the evenings and on the weekend we visited several village churches to preach the gospel. It was a delight to hear the pounding of the drums (Their main instrument in worship) the loud clapping of the hands and the exuberant singing. The combination of the three was sometimes deafening as we crowded into small church buildings to worship. Although I could not understand the words the people were singing, it was a delight to my soul to hear them sounding forth praises to God in their own language."
Preaching & Praying - Praise God!
"I preached through a translator and then the people lined up after the service for prayer. I prayed for more people after each service than I think I have in my 15 years of pastoral ministry in Canada. It was a moving and enriching experience to my soul. I praise God that as a result of the village preaching, 9 people made professions of faith. I even had the opportunity to pray for several Muslim women who came to the Bible school and asked me to pray for them.
The opportunities for gospel ministry in India are huge. There are churches to be built, and Bible Schools to be established, and souls-a billion souls-who need Jesus Christ!
Perry testifies, "I am filled with joy as I think of India, and look forward to the day when I can visit that my brothers and sisters in Christ in that far away land, and preach the gospel to those who need to hear it."
