Dear Praying Friends,

" . . . Thou art an offense unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men." To my shame, I was reminded of that biblical passage by an experience l had last night. It was ten minutes 'til 7:00 and we had two more doors to knock to finish an apartment complex of 2,500 apartments that we have been knocking on for several months. Inside I was thinking how glad we had only two doors to knock so that we could be back at the house on time for our 7:00 cottage prayer meeting we hold on Tuesdays.

The Holy Spirit rebuked me and said, "What if I have someone behind this door I want you to talk to, won't that ruin your little time schedule?" Repentant, I asked God to give me a rare opportunity to share the entire Gospel and that that person trust Christ as their Savior.

When I knocked on the door, a friendly teenage boy answered the door, and after I spoke to him, and gave him a tract, he said, "Let me get my mother." While he was getting his mother, the Holy Spirit said, "Your prayer has been answered. She is going to be saved." A pleasant, middle-aged woman came to the door and I could see a noble heart in her, good ground as the parable of the sower calls it. Within minutes, this woman sincerely bowed her head and trusted Christ. I statistically had no reason to expect that as, to be honest, in the last 16 months that we have knocked over 5,500 doors; we can count on our hands how many have been saved the first time we have knocked on their door.

I know that it was God that was trying to teach me a lesson that souls and the leading of the Holy Spirit are more important than our schedules and planned agendas. Although I am all for the latter, I must remember not to savour the things of man more that the things of God.

Please pray as we continue to work with a few who I believe are people of good ground (or good, honest hearts): Alejandro (saved on Saturday), Victoria, Enrique and Erica, and a young man named Daniel (all of whom are not saved YET).

Thank you for your continued prayers,

Clint Rardin
