Pray for Joanna and John as they commence their married life together.
Prayer For The Wider Area:
Church leaders detained in Inner Mongolia, China
Voice of the Martyrs Canada reports a church leader in Inner Mongolia is behind bars, along with more than 40 of his co-workers-among them, a South Korean pastor who remains missing.
China Aid Association verifies the report, adding that the leader was identified as the president of the Inner Mongolia Branch of the Chinese House Church Alliance, Wang Dawei.
State Security Bureau police and members of the Religious Affairs Bureau arrested the group on February 20. The leaders had been in the third day of a Bible study retreat. Officials also took the offering money and more than 30 boxes of Bibles and other Christian literature.
The church in China is growing rapidly, despite government efforts to stop the movement, one estimate suggesting that 6% of China's population is Christian. By contrast, Tibet has an estimated total of 300 Christians.
The Grace World View - The Rendille by Keith Underhill
In the city of Nairobi, in the African country of Kenya, a handful of dislocated Rendille people have come under the influence of the gospel. Trinity Baptist Church has welcomed more than fifteen who came for benevolent assistance.
Nine of these have come to know Christ and have found more than food for their bellies. They have been satisfied with the bread of life.
Their fellow Rendille live some twelve hours drive north of Nairobi. There are perhaps forty thousand plus members of the Rendille tribe. 95% of the tribe does has little or no knowledge of Christ. Less than 5% can read or write their language. Translation of the Bible into the Rendille language is in progress.
The main Rendille town of Korr is within a few hour's walk of a large portion of the tribes' population. The Rendille live in groups of 2-30 huts, called goobs. The huts are domed shaped with a narrow v-shaped slit of an entrance. They are a monotheistic people who have a very simple sacrificial system. There is much pressure on the people if they convert to Christianity and do not continue with the traditional sacrifices.
There is a great need for water sources in this land, as many travel two to three hours each direction to get water. Pray that there would be a greater thirst for the water of life from the fountain that flows freely.
