Thought For The Week:
"The LORD is high above all nations, His glory above the heavens. Who is like the LORD our God, who dwells on high." Psalm 113: 4,5
Prayer For The Church:
Continue to pray for the youth work each week. Please pray especially for the KIC club where the behaviour of the children continues to be a concern. It would be good to know there are those who are lifting up their hands in prayer at 6.45 p.m.
Thank God for answering prayer for Sarah as she has now accepted a permanent teaching post.
Pray for Ruth as she has an interview on Monday.
Pray for the church at Bexleyheath as they commence a week of evangelism tomorrow. ( see S.E.Dist. prayer list.)
Pray for the CCIW camps that are now being organized.
A training day was held at Winchester yesterday for the leaders. Pray especially for Ralph's camp as he will need to find more helpers this year. Please pray that God will lead and guide in the preparations.
Prayer For The Local Area:
Angel and North Watford. By God's grace, we have completed our first six months of ministry at Angel. We have averaged 20 in worship attendance and 16 in Bible study participation during this time. The response of the people to the ministry of the Word (passage by passage preaching from Mark in worship services and verse by verse teaching from Titus in Bible studies) has been most encouraging...We would value prayer concerning three items: (1) Discussion with Geoff Gobbett concerning joint evangelism efforts in Angel and Highbury, (2) Weekly evangelistic Bible study at Clerkenwell's Woodbridge Chapel through 25 March 2008 and (3)Launch of weekly lunchtime service beginning 25 March 2008.
Also, we are grateful for the opportunity to have made a start in North Watford. We have made a number of contacts in the area and have held our first two small group Bible studies. Seven attended the first week and eight came for the second meeting. We are very hopeful concerning this new work. We would value prayer concerning two items: (1) A woman (Zoe) who has attended both Bible studies and has no affiliation with a local church and (2) The first Sunday morning service on 23 March 2008.
Prayer For The Wider Area:
News from Donald Paul Tuck - Baptist Pulpit Ministries
BPM is a faith based ministry coordinating the ministry of Pastors and churches in the Philippine Republic - the Ukraine, Canada and elsewhere.
The time for our annual VBS in the Philippines, especially in Mindanao. The first of these will be in Harip, Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur during the month of April in about 4 Barangay's reaching more than 500 children.
Please pray for the work in Surigao City, Philippines under the leadership of Elder Faraon R. Diola. They are continuing their building but much work is yet to be done.
I still have a vision to see our own PRINTING PRESS in the Philippines. We have those who can do it for us and save much money for the Lord's work. We just need to find a place and purchase equipment to do it.
The work in Cherkassy, Ukraine under the leadership of Stanislav Poshtar continues to go ahead despite some minor setbacks. Their landlord continues to raise their rent, forcing them to relocate to another apartment.
