CALL TO WORSHIP
Precious is the name of Jesus
Who can half its worth unfold?
Far beyond angelic praises
Sweetly sung to harps of gold.
Precious when to Calvary groaning
He endured the cursed tree.
Precious when His death atoning
Made an end of sin for me.
Precious in His death victorious,
He the host of hell o’erthrows.
In His resurrection glorious,
Victor crowned o’er all His foes.
Precious Lord beyond expressing
Are Thy beauties all divine.
Glory, honor, power, and blessings
Be henceforth forever Thine.
(Tune: “Jesus Calls Us” p. 374)

WALKING IN GRACE
Grace in the heart will be seen in our walk before men. Don’t be mistaken about how this grace is seen by men. God’s grace in the heart will not be seen by men in how well we keep the law. Outward law keeping is how a legalist is recognized. God’s grace in the heart is seen in our attitude: in our love for others, in our compassion for the lost, and in how readily we forgive others.

LOVE SENT THE SACRIFICE
God loved His people with an everlasting love (Jer. 31:3), so before God ever created anything, He loved His people. But those people were born lost in sin, so God sent His Son to be the sacrifice for their sin. Now those people rest in complete confidence and assurance because if God loved His people enough to send His Son to be the sacrifice for their sin, you can rest assured that the sacrifice was sufficient to put their sin away!

If you would have righteousness, you must have it in and from Christ. He has to give you both an imputed righteousness for justifying you; and an imparted righteousness for sanctifying you.
Ralph Erskine
I once heard a poor woman say when dying: “I believe God’s Word, and am persuaded, notwithstanding my unworthiness and guilt, that my Lord Jesus will save me from my sins and sorrow and bring me home to Himself; and if He does, He will never hear the last of it!’’
John Newton
GOD’S WORKS AND THOUGHTS
Many, O Lord, are Thy wonderful works which Thou hast done and Thy thoughts which are to usward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee; if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered (Ps. 40:5).
No matter what our feelings or our circumstances, there is always something in the scriptures to meet our need or express what we feel. David, in this verse, expresses my feelings. All any of us have to do to see the wondrous works of God toward us is to just look around us. Has He not preserved us, kept us from falling, and met all of our needs both temporally and spiritually? Look at His wonderful works toward us as a church! He has indeed done a wondrous work for us as a body of believers. Just consider where we were just a few short years ago. When I do, my heart melts in gratitude and is filled with joy.
Let us offer thanks to Him for every trial and every tear, for every mountain and every valley, for every bit of rejoicing and every bit of sorrow, for every bit of ease and every bit of struggle, for every step, every breath and every moment that has brought us to this place and time!
O Lord, our God and Savior, give us of your grace that we may honor and magnify the truth of your grace given us in your Son. O Lord, renew our zeal, renew our determination to be true to the One True and Living God and Jesus Christ whom you sent to be the sacrifice and substitute for sinners like us.
Lord, enable us to guard our fellowship as brethren, that we would always enjoy peace and harmony and unity of purpose and heart as a church family. Lord also let us always love one another and be kind and gracious one to another, as we remember the Great Love wherewith you Loved us and Gave Yourself for us.

The LORD reigneth; let the earth rejoice; let the multitude of isles be glad therof. (Psalm 97.1)
We may mourn as our culture slides into ever-more depths of depravity. But the rebellion of men and women has not altered the purpose of God in the least, in fact, it is part and parcel of the fulfillment of it!. Nor has this rebellion deprived our Lord of the least of His power and authority. Christ is enthroned at the Father’s right hand and all His people are safe and secure in Him!
