CALL TO WORSHIP
Dear Lord, into Thy faithful hands,
My welfare I commit;
And to Thy righteousness alone,
For safety I retreat.
Sorrows and agonies and death,
Thou didst endure for me;
When all the sins of God's elect
Were made to meet on Thee.
Though worthy in myself of hell
And everlasting shame;
I cannot dread the frown Divine,
Accepted in the Lamb.
Still on Thy merit, gracious Lord,
Enable me to lean;
Ever in Thee may I be found
My hiding place from sin.
(Tune: "O For A Thousand Tongues" p. 46)

THE IMPORTANCE OF PUBLIC WORSHIP
“Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together” (Heb. 10:25)
Private worship, prayer, and reading of God’s Word is important to the life of a believer, but it is almost impossible to over emphasize the importance of being in the public worship service. God is pleased to save His people through the preaching of the Word in public worship. (I Cor. 1:21) God is pleased to feed His people and cause them to grow spiritually by the preaching of the Word in public worship. (I Peter 2:2) God is pleased to comfort the hearts of His people by the preaching of the Word in public worship. (Isaiah 40:1-2) Christ our Savior is pleased to meet with His people whenever they meet together in public worship. (Matt. 18:20) If your desire is for God to save you, feed you, teach you, and make Himself known to you, make it your business to be in the public worship service as much as humanly possible.

A DIFFERENCE
There is a difference in learning CALVIN'S theology and learning the THEOLOGY of Calvin!! Just as there is a difference in knowing the doctrines of grace and knowing the grace of the doctrines.
Henry Mahan
Though God loved us with an everlasting love and chose us to be heirs of eternal salvation, he would not and could not have us unless we were made to be perfectly righteous in his sight. And he could not make us righteous without the satisfaction of his justice. And his holy justice could not slay his innocent Son. The sword of justice could not slay an innocent Substitute. Before God could cry, “Awake, O sword, and slay my Son,” the Son of God must be “made to be sin for us.”
Don Fortner
In all the heresies that have troubled the church over the last 2000 years, there is, in truth, only one heresy – The Insufficiency of Christ. No matter what form a heresy may take – free-willism, ceremonialism, legalism, moralism and so forth - the underlying issue is a lack of belief that Christ is the necessary and sufficient Savior for sinners. We need Him, and He is all we need.
In a very real sense, many shall perish forever, not because they did not have enough, but because they had too much. They believed that Christ was necessary for their salvation, but they prove they do not believe that Christ is sufficient for they act as though the salvation brought by Christ is waiting for them to do something that activates or supplements the work of Christ.
But the glory of the gospel of Christ is that its success rests entirely on the work of the Lord Jesus Christ. The gospel of God requires nothing from us. It comes to us as sinners, expecting nothing from us other than sin. Even the faith by which we lay hold of Christ does not arise from our natural selves but is a gift from God, given to us without us asking for it, worked in us by the power of the Spirit of God as He imparts new spiritual life to us through the New Birth.
Everything in the gospel is designed so that “he who boasts, boasts in the Lord.” The praise of heaven does not contain a single word about the works of man. Rather, every syllable is toward the Son of God. He did it; He did it all; He did it well!
