"Exultant Praise!" Ephesians 3:20&21 We have here a beautiful doxology and a beautiful ending to any service it would be! We often UNDERestimate the power of God in our lives! We fill ourselves with anxiety and although His power is in our life, we don't live accordingly. Our doxology, praise, confession, and life must ALL be in tune one with the other. From the point of view of prayer and our needs met can we live unto His glory!
To Whom:: "Him that is able to do all things exceedingly above." We usually discuss God's attributes and His care over us or the work of His re-creation in us and God must receive ALL the glory in these things. Paul takes a different slant however and wants us to take those things that He does in our life and give EXUBERANT praise! This verse has superlatives on top of each other in order to show us the power of God! The original wording here is "now to Him that is able BEYOND everything to do." He can do far beyond everything that needs to be done! He is not limited, and NOTHING is out of His reach! He is BEYOND anything we can ask, or even conceive of for that matter! We cannot even imagine! The wonderful conception of our Father Paul gives us. It is almost a challenge to ask for God for what is beyond our fondest dreams. Make your most daring requests and soar to the limits of your requests and you still will have not even begun to touch His power. You and I can never ask or conceive of too much with God!
For What? Immediately we wonder what we can ask for carnally and have exterior and warped wants for everything in our lives. From the stresses and anxieties of live, but that is not the text. Read this text again and you will find not one carnal or mundane request! It is for the inner man, for SPIRITUAL strength, for faith that lifts you into Heaven. It is all in the UN-limited power of God to do! The impetus is not for the things God does for us, but it is for the power of God WITHIN us! We need to look inside of ourselves for the power of God! (Not outside.) Who would have asked for the conversion of the Apostle Paul? Really?! He killed the saints of God. Who would quicken us to a new and holy life in the same way??
Where" This continues and happens in our daily life! Can we conceive of a God who continually puts up with a wayward, disobedient child?!? God can do more than we can conceive of in us and in our children. Don't ask for the removal of death, trials, and tribulations but ask the Lord to show us the power of grace WITHIN us to deal with them. Then, and then only will the glory of God will come forth and we will live to His praise!
God will not fix the shadow of death till His final coming that His power may be imagined in our lives to His praise! Do we mark it in our lives? Do we see things from this perspective? Are we clouded carnally so that this vision escapes us?...or...do we see it and sing from the bottom of our hearts "when we've been there 10000 years, we'll have no less days to sing of God's praise.." for ALL His wonderful work?!!!
