THE BLESSED MAN
In Psalm 65:4 David gives us two marks of a man truly blessed of God. “Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee”.
First, a man who is blessed of God has been chosen by God unto salvation in divine election. Election is a great blessing for a sinful man because no one can do anything to deserve salvation. No one can do anything to get God to choose them. God elected sinners “according to the good pleasure of his will” (Eph. 1:5). Election is a great blessing because it is always undeserved.
Second, a man who is blessed of God has been caused to approach God by the irresistible call of the Holy Spirit. Man by nature does not have the ability to come to Christ unless God draws us to Christ: “No man CAN come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him” (John 6:44): Man by nature also refuses to come to Christ for salvation. “Ye WILL NOT come to me, that ye might have life.” (John 5:40). No one deserves to be drawn to Christ since we have long refused Him. But what a blessing of God when He draws everyone He chose in divine election to Christ, the Savior of His people!
May God be pleased to make us blessed men and women!
Any man who tells you that God loves everyone without exception and that Christ loves everyone and died for everyone without exception does not know you or God.

When you ask someone what their hope is most will say I trust the finished work of Christ. But it is not the work of Christ that saves sinners, IT IS CHRIST HIMSELF!
It wasn’t a work that bore our sin on the tree but a person. The Lord Jesus Christ did indeed come into the world to do a work, a work that his father gave him to do on behalf of his people. He came to fulfill the law and prophets, and to make an end of sin and bring in an everlasting righteousness. He was the Lamb of God who John said “would take away the sin of the world”. He was “Immanuel God with us, He was Jesus who came to save his people from their sin”.
As for me I trust a PERSON The Lord Jesus Christ, for he was a sinless man who lived a perfect life and offered himself as a sacrifice for sin, and by that one sacrifice sin was put away once for all, and by that one offering he sanctified his people.
So do you trust a finished work or The Lord Jesus who did the work? It was He who cried from the Cross IT IS FINISHED!

Arminian infidelity limits the merit, power, efficacy, and worth of Christ’s blood, blasphemously asserting that though Christ died for the whole world, he really accomplished nothing for anyone. The Word of God limits the intent, design, purpose, and scope of the atonement, proclaiming redemption fully accomplished for all God’s elect. That is to say, redemption accomplished for every sinner who trusts the Son of God.

Prayer is the effect of a new heart given to a needy sinner. It is the expression of thankfulness and petition toward the God of all mercy and grace. The believer knows that the Lord is absolutely sovereign in creation, providence, and salvation and that the unchanging God, to whom he prays, shall do all His good pleasure. Therefore the sinner, who sees by faith that there is One who rules and reigns in heaven and earth, continually asks, seeks, and knocks at the Door of mercy Himself and then waits upon Him to do His good pleasure.
