Prayer for the church Please continue to pray for Simon with his situation regarding his employment.
Continue to pray for Pastor as he recovers from being unwell.
Continue to pray for our local churches without pastors and few committed workers.
For Local Area Epsom is the church on our Prayer Diary. The church correspondent writes: ‘We thank God for His many blessings in 2006 but long for more. Especially a resumption of work among Children & Youth - AND conversions.’
For Wider Area The Church of Mercy, Cambodia -Bill & Jennifer Hale – www.thechurchofmercy.org Thank the Lord! After many years of prayer and preparation He has brought us safely to the Cambodian mission field. We moved into a storefront-style house in the Prek Ambel market. Bong Sre Muey, our landlady, has been very kind and helpful, and we are starting to feel at home in the village. The neighbourhood children crowd around any open door or window to watch us and call out, "Hello! Hello!"
Everyday we feel more comfortable venturing out by ourselves. We have picked up many useful words and phrases which help in the market, though we don't go far without our English/Cambodian pocket dictionary. We have yet to begin our formal Khmer language education, though we plan to start in the next week or two.
The churches are doing well in the Lord. Prek Ambel is continuing to serve as the hub of the Cambodian work. There are new visitors in church every Sunday. A new ministry has been started in Koa Tome, about thirteen kilometres south of Prek Ambel, which includes over fifty children. We are hopeful the Lord will continue to bless this group as they study the Word of God.
Sre Trang is also doing well in the Lord. We purchased and delivered a motorbike for Pastor Ngan which will allow him to minister to the remote areas surrounding the Sre Trang village.
The Discipleship Training Center Students The first floor of the building has been completed. Some students live in the three large dorm rooms, and the classrooms are currently used for Bible, English and music classes. On Sunday mornings the youth meet there for Sunday School as well.
In his typical fashion Pastor Chheng Nuon has big plans for the future of the Discipleship Training Center. We discussed extending the length of the program to offer a more comprehensive course of Biblical studies (e.g. Greek, Systematic Theology) and official government accreditation.
The students are eager to grow in knowledge and holiness. They are also active in outreach to the community. Please pray that God would bless this school's work!
Prayer Requests: • Pray for the students to learn and grow
• Pray for Chheng to preach with power
• Pray that Bill & Jennifer will encourage and strengthen the work
• Pray that the churches in Prek Ambel & Sre Trang will grow
