We rejoice with Lindy Simpson who confessed Christ her Savior in believer’s baptism on Wednesday. If the Lord has revealed Himself to anyone else who wishes to be baptized, please let me know. Vacation Bible School for ages 4 through high school will be held this week from Wednesday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to noon. Everyone is invited to attend a picnic Friday at 4:30 p.m. at the CSX park in Huntington. Directions are in the vestibule.
THE MIDWEEK SERVICE THIS WEEK WILL BE HELD ON THURSDAY AT 7 p.m. when Pastor Tom Harding will be preaching for us.
THANKFUL FOR SALVATION IN CHRIST
I am thankful that salvation is through the obedience of the Lord Jesus Christ because I could never be obedient to God’s law. I am thankful that salvation is through the sacrifice of Christ because I could never pay the price required for my redemption. I am thankful that salvation is by grace alone for I could never earn the salvation that God gives freely in Christ.
If your husband or loved one had died yesterday and today was his memorial service, how would you approach this? How would you prepare? Would your thoughts be on the things of this world? Would you be lighthearted and unconcerned? Would you be playing and texting before the service? NO! Fact is, the believer’s Husband did die and this is His memorial service; a solemn, serious and sober occasion, that deserves prayerful preparation and heartfelt praise.

A WORD TO THOSE WHO ARE NOT SAVED
“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!” -Matthew 23: 37
A word to those who are not saved. If you are not saved, it is not because God refused to save you. It is not because you are not elect, Christ did not die for you, or that you have not been regenerated by the Holy Spirit. It is because you would not come to Christ. He said, “I would” and “You would not”. If a sinner is damned, he has no one to blame but himself. But thank God it is still true, “All that the Father giveth Me shall come to Me, and him that cometh to Me I will not cast out.” Hear the promise, if you come to Him, He will not for any reason cast you away. You come and you will be received. Do not use the great doctrine of grace as a reason not to come. He is willing to receive you if you come.

Alive Forever
The famed evangelist, Dwight L. Moody, once remarked in a sermon: "Some day you will read in the papers that D. L. Moody of East Northfield is dead. Don't you believe a word of it. At that moment I shall be more alive than now. I shall have gone up higher, that is all - out of this old clay tenement into a house that is immortal; a body that death cannot touch, that sin cannot taint, a body fashioned like unto His glorious body. That which is born of the flesh may die. That which is born of the spirit will live forever. "
