They're almost All at it Folks...
The Question you got to ask Yourself is...
Would you be able to Consistently, day~in,day~out, month~in,month~out, year~in,year~out, Resist Gifts given ?...
We are all pretty Wretched, and a Gift is a Gift..
For me,its when a Country starts giving its Orphans to the Sodomites, and proposes to teach Sex~Education to 5 Year~Olds, and promotes "two~daddies",and "two~mummies", like ours here in Britain does that I See Judgment is Already here...
"God requireth that which is Past"..
You folks in the States, should be aware, that the Sword of America is Blood~Soaked,as is the UK's...
And National~Judgment Slumbers not...
God's Great Thoughts Go on though...
And if you are in the Smitten Rock.. Cleft for us,then Blessing will Eternally flow..
Most governments set themselves up as "god" and have, corporately at least, little thought of the Will of God... Its been the way since time Immemorial, and it will Not Change.
Mercy will ever flow to the protectors of Israel,so we will see less Judgment for US than UK,This Country(UK)is barely a Trustworthy friend of Israel, and is well in reciept of Judgment..
The Risen~One is the Coming~One.
A bit of a warble folks, please forgive me,I hope I have made some sense to Someone

Proverbs 16:1 "The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from the LORD.
2 All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but the LORD weigheth the spirits.
3 Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.
4 The LORD hath made all things for himself: yea, EVEN THE WICKED FOR the day of evil."

Whereas God can perceive the heart of man - HE can see a church which is invisible to human eyes.

Luke 16:15 And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but GOD KNOWETH YOUR HEARTS: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.

Acts 15:8 And GOD, WHICH KNOWETH THE HEARTS, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us;

Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

"You have a triangle with fundamentalist secularists in one corner, fundamentalist faith people in another, and then the ***intelligent, thinking liberals*** of Anglicanism, Roman Catholicism, baptism, methodism, other faiths - and, indeed, thinking atheists - in the other corner. " says Slee."

Note the quote *intelligent thinking liberals*
So now we know whose side he's on.

The real struggle is the same as it's always been. Christian against the world.

John 17:14 "I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
15 I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.
16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth."

Follow Jesus.

Jesus said
Rev 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

He was speaking to the church in Laodicea, yet clearly they did not "hear" Him. On earth they were visible to the mortals, but the implication of these verses is that they were not the children of God.
(did not overcome)

What then did Christ perceive. A bunch of people on their way to heaven - or some not destined to get there?

Was that also visible to the Laodiceans?

Visible which we see.
Invisible which only God sees.

EG
Matt 7:21f
21 "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity."

Thus we mere mortals would have observed these guys going to church.
But the Lord would have known their hearts.

Laodicea at Rev. 3:14ff is a similar example.

"...that they who do such things shall not inherit God's kingdom."

Yes remember Chris there are three alternatives.

1] inherit the Kingdom of God.
2] inherit the kingdom of Satan, called Hell.
3] Disneyworld.

2Thes2:9 Even him, whose coming is after the *WORKING* of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

11 And for this cause God shall send them *STRONG DELUSION,* that they should believe a lie:

* There is a direct connection between the *working* of Satan and *strong* delusion in the Greek. Viz the same Greek word is used = "energeian" (from which we get our word energy)
Energeian = working or operating.

Thus the energeian of Satan.
And the energeian of delusion/deceit/error, (and a straying from orthodoxy)

The reason provided that they receive this "strong delusion" is given in the verse - "that they should believe a lie"

"legions of gay and straight priests who don the rainbow stoles of gay liberation. Its pews are full of Roman Catholics and Christians from other traditions attracted by its aura of radical acceptance."

Good grief a conglomeration of deviants, Liberals and heretics under one roof, - and the term Christian is used in the same breath???

""Many took umbrage at what they saw as meddling by foreign primates who are imposing their culture and theological interpretations on the American church.""

Aaaww ain't that just so nasty; - fancy asking them to accept the Scripture precepts!!!

2The2:10 "And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; BECAUSE THEY RECEIVED NOT the love of the TRUTH, that they might be saved.

Well how about that the "City of Brotherly Love" takes on a new meaning. Sexual Deviancy!!!

The "Religious Tolerance" type legislation and abandonment of morals, is coming to a government near you in Britain too!!!

Satan's winning hearts and minds in western societies today.

Apparently PC now also means "People Constraint"

Repent or Perish

Matt 6:
12 And forgive us OUR debts, as we forgive our debtors
NB This means even YOU are a sinner!!!

15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses

Eph 2:2 Wherein in time past *YE WALKED* according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
2:3
Among whom also *WE ALL HAD* our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

Matt 18:21 Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?
18:22 Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.

"Repent" - Don't ignore these commands of the Lord to set yourself up as judge and executioner, since vengeance belongs only to God. Rom 12:19/Psalm 94:1/Heb 10:30.

"Let me move on and look at another major area that caused problems in the late Middle Ages-THE CLERGY. The clergy in the late Middle Ages tended to be not very well informed. They were often the target of abuse-of ridicule-because they knew so little. This reflects the fact that the social status of clergy wasn't really very high. But deeper down was something much more worrisome: that all the clergy needed to do was tend to the pastoral needs of their flock and not worry about anything else. There was no real teaching ministry grounded in the word of God. There was no real sense of mission or evangelism. Bear in mind, we're talking about late fifteenth-century Europe, where the assumption was that everybody was a Christian, so there was no need to evangelize at all. The result is that people didn't like the clergy at all, for all kinds of reasons. The clergy had certain privileges. For example, they were exempt from taxation; they were exempt from compulsory military service. Above all, they were not well informed, and they were not seen to play any decisive or important role in the life of the church. With the Reformation this changed in a very big way. It changed because enormous emphasis came to be placed upon the teaching role of the clergy." (McGrath)

"One of the great themes of the Reformation is a bringing to consciousness of the great truths of the Christian faith. Karl Heim, who is one of the great historians of the Reformation, once wrote a line about his Calvinist friends. He said the Calvinist knows what he believes, and why. Heim makes the point that the Reformation brought with it a rediscovery of the truths of the Christian faith. A rebirth of Christian understanding and of Christian knowledge. That really wasn't there in the late Middle Ages at all. There was real confusion and a real lack of understanding."
(A McGrath)

On why the Reformation

"The late Middle Ages saw the church going through a period of real doctrinal confusion. People were not sure what they believed. They weren't sure why they believed it, either. The result is that the church of the period really lacked any sense of certainty about what they believed and why they believed it. There arose a whole generation of Christians who really didn't understand what the Gospel was all about. That was enormously important for a whole range of things. One of the great themes of the doctrine of justification is this: It answers the question, "What must I do to be saved?" That is a real question for a lot of people. It is an important question. It is a question that needs to be answered. Yet in the late Middle Ages, people weren't certain how to answer that question at all. What must you do to be saved?"

It was Martyn Lloyd Jones who said quote; " It is very difficult to tell who is a Christian today because the Church and the world are so similar, and that is because the world has come into the Church."

Paul teaches in the Word of God
1 Thes 1:5
For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and IN MUCH ASSURANCE; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.
= NB Does the Gospel come in power - Yes.
= NB Does the Gospel come in the Holy Ghost - Yes.
= NB Does the Gospel come in much assurance- Yes. (or do you doubt this bit DB)

Also it is written
Hebrews 6:11
And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the FULL ASSURANCE of hope unto the end:

Also
Heb 10:22
Let us draw near with a true heart in FULL ASSURANCE of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

1John 3:19
And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall ASSURE our hearts before him.

DB; This is not just another call to human ability. This is the gift of assurance provided by a wonderful providential God of Love.
