Neither will faith in our faith save. There are only two kinds of people in the world: 1. Those who are in Christ. 2. Those who are not in Christ. Christ, is the whole armour of God, is our salvation.
One more thing to add is that if we men who call ourselves Christians excuse pornography in our lives then we are really in the same boat as the sodomite.
It's funny how we're so slow to believe that not only will all practicing homosexuals be lost, but so are practicing adulterers, practicing gluttons, practicing liars, practicer of unforgiveness, practicer of bitterness, practicing fornicators, practicing pride and so on.
I'm not a Catholic , but in all fairness I think the Pope had people like Henri Nouwen in mind who knew his own tendency was toward homosexuality but never acted upon it knowing it was a sin. Instead of condemning people like that we should remind ourselves of the many other sins which Jesus condemns but we often excuse such as covetousness, gluttony, dishonesty, adultery, camouflaged idolatry, hatred for our enemies, etc.
The evangelicals lost their case on marriage and sexuality long ago when they compromised on divorce and remarriage. They want to claim exceptions clauses, but only for themselves.
As is so common now days another clear bible teaching "bites the dust" and God's timeless Word must play second fiddle to our ever changing cultures as the headcovering issue already has.
I'm afraid that the Calvinistic teaching of "once saved always saved" is at least part to blame for the careless lifestyle of our younger generation. It has made it only too easy to conform to the cultural norms around us and not worry about ones eternal destiny when sin is committed. God will not hold pastors guiltless who preached a false assurance.
Why is the Church loosing the battle against immorality? Why is open sin so common in Churches these days? This is allowed to happen to our own destruction. How sad!
Super Bowl Sunday is no longer innocent fun and hasn't been for years. The undiscerning christian might still think so. It is really sickening to watch so many people who call themselves Christian join in this idolatry, and on The Lord's Day at that! This is just another reminder of how low American Christianity has fallen. Is there a remnant left who have not bowed to Baal? Very sadly it's well nigh heresy nowadays to call into question christian involvement in professional sports.
