Just thought you would like to see what the Bible reveals of God's mind on that subject. It was you who suggested that this kind of action was quote "dark history" Do you perceive the OT as dark history?
That certainly was a stern warning from God, and one which was very badly ignored resulting in tremendous loss.
I thank God that under the New Covenant, which I as a gentile can be a part of, the discipline for heresy or apostasy is excommunication rather than death.

These Muslims come over here because their own country is badly organised, incompetent and mismanaged, uncivilised and dangerous because they try to slaughter each other. And here they try to take over and make decent countries as stupid, satanic and ridiculous as their own corrupt societies and nations.
=========

Deuter 13:6 If thy brother, the son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend, which is as thine own soul, entice thee secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which thou hast not known, thou, nor thy fathers;
9 But thou shalt surely kill him; thine hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people. 10 And thou shalt stone him with stones, that he die; because he hath sought to thrust thee away from the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.

Are you trying to justify the violence which happened in N. Ireland and elsewhere?
Historically, each opposing side always assumes theirs is the side of truth, and so the killing goes on and on. Jesus has shown us a much better way.

I remember the hype back in 1970, and to be honest I can't think of one single good thing to say about that movie today. It is pure blasphemy from start to finish. I'm ashamed now to admit that I actually liked the music back then.

Christians everywhere need to pray for Kim's miraculous release. I shudder at the thought of the torture he has no doubt already endured.

I fully agree with pastor James McConnell's assessment of Islam. Sadly though both Catholic's and Protestants have their own dark history when it comes to the death penalty for heresy and apostasy.

We should always applaud every effort to raise the moral standard and conscience, that is how a society at least knows what is right even if they don't do it.
Of course ultimately it's the heart that needs to be changed or else right living does no eternal good for the individual, and only our Messiah can do that.

"In a speech to business leaders in London, the Prince said that a “fundamental transformation of global capitalism†was necessary in order to halt “dangerously accelerating climate change†that would “bring us to our own destructionâ€.""

Let's be serious for once!

This actually not a new problem, but it is accentuated by individualism, delayed maturity, entertainment overdose, and most importantly dysfunctional homes.

Dawkins is clever and insightful. He is joining all those "Christians" who although they profess Christianity, Christ has absolutely no reality in their daily life. They are essentially practical atheists. Dawkins is merely exposing such nonsense.

Many people wrongly assume that all religious leaders disapprove of abortion,†the letter alleges, stating that “there are clergy and people of faith from all denominations who support women making this complex decision.â€
The reason this decision is complex for them is because they are fighting their conscience which is telling them that they are actually murdering their own child, their own flesh and blood, their own posterity, and instead of becoming a mother they are becoming an agent of death. They know perfectly well this is no mere appendix they are removing.

I wanted to add something. I know some have been arguing lately that sin is sin is sin, but...when the topic is sodomy, I see something much more sinister and vile. There's a different feeling for me when sodomites claim to be Christians and proclaim it proudly and with boldness. I get a sour, uncomfortable feeling when they, as church members, raise their hands in praise, close their eyes in prayer, and say "amen" while being active, proud sodomites. To me, I see it all as pure mockery and laughing in the face of God. What's even worse are the sodomites in leadership roles within todays church, the growing acceptance by so called Christians, and what's being taught to the next generation. The next generation will grow up right into all of this and consider it all as being normal, when it was blasphemy to previous generations.
I greatly fear the day is fast approaching when sodomy in the Church will no longer shock and disgust. I say this because there are sins in the Church right now which have found comfortable acceptance which at one time would have shocked the average church goer.

John of Wales, thou hast spoken well!

Our Father made it simple, it's we who make it difficult in order to get some glory with a profoundly complex answer.

Why the cross? To answer and do justice to that question would require a book the size of the Bible.......speaking of which.
The need for the cross began in Genesis 3, was answered in the four gospels and will be more fully understood and appreciated around the great white throne of God found in Revelation chapter 20:11-15.

John UK from Wales writes:
S.Taylor wrote:
Neither will faith in our faith save.
There are only two kinds of people in the world:
1. Those who are in Christ.
2. Those who are not in Christ.
Christ, is the whole armour of God, is our salvation.
If a sinner is not in Christ, how does he get in Christ?

Submit ourselves to Christ, ask Him to do the humanly impossible-fix our messed up lives.
