Aim: To be filled with awe and praise for what the King has done for us.
Exegesis: The King of the Jews loves us. Christ tells us the truth (vv. 1-2) and gives us His life (vv. 3-5). The King of the Jews substitutes for us. We deserve death (vv. 6-10); Christ bore our death (v. 11). The King of the Jews redeems us through His blameless life (vv. 12-14) and His atoning death (v. 15).
Key verse: v. 2 ''Then Pilate asked [Jesus], 'Are You the King of the Jews?' [Jesus] answered and said to him, 'It is as you say.'''
