Pastor David writes: It was Thoreau who stated, "Most men live lives of quiet desperation." In times of trouble, hope is in short supply. Nothing changes or it changes not for the better but the worse. Money and things provide little contentment and keep us on the treadmill of economic slavery. People need hope! The apostle Peter states that Christians have been given "a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ." We are born of God through Jesus' resurrection from the dead. Salvation changes who we are, making us dead to sin and alive to righteousness in Jesus Christ. This new birth serves as our reason for hope—the best is yet to come! This old world may be careening out of control but it is not our permanent home! Heaven is! We journey onward and upward to a beautiful eternal life. We have "an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you." God is so good!
