We have endured a month of the open celebration of sin; of the pride of man, denying what God has said. The forced silencing of all voices that speak out and deny the wickedness that demands to be acknowledged as normal. The spirit of the righteous cannot help but be wounded by the spiritual carnage that surrounds us in the wake of the assault upon the truth of God's Word. While it is not surprising that the world has hated what God says, it is disheartening to hear how many who name the name of Christ set themselves against His truth for the sake of the applause of men... while it is saddening to us, it will be far worse for them if they do not repent! For God does not ever change. He does not change what He hates, what He loves or what He says is wrong. And the opinions and ideas of men do not alter the fundamental truth of how God has made the world. And He pronounces a dire warning to all who pretend that something evil is really something good and worthy of pride... what are we to do? The answer is really quite simple: pray. Pray for mercy , pray for grace. Pray that God would enliven fallen and ruined sinners, that He would cause them to repent, that He would call them to Himself. But more than this, pray also for yourself, that God would show you your own sin, that you also might repent and have your heart made right with God. Beloved, here is the simple truth, God might still heal our land, but we must ask Him. We must ALL seek His face and cry for mercy... He is our only hope!!
