(Revelation 2:4) “Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.”
Do your remember your first love as a child? Puppy love! How tender you were? How bad it hurt when your heart was broken? How about as a teenager? How you worshipped the object of your affection and again how broken you felt when spurned for another. Do you remember the love you had for your spouse at the outset of your marriage? Do you still pursue her or him the way you did from the outset? If not why not? It may be, we need to go back to our first love, not only in our marriages, but also in our Christianity! If we love Christ the way we should, we will love others the way we should.
(1 John 4:11-12) “Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.”
