Thank you for praying for our VBS. I was worried on Sunday because, although we had another good adult service of 82, we had only 25 children including 4 in the nursery. We also had not done a VBS in two years since we were in the States last year. Usually we begin VBS with about 35 kids. On Monday, we had 69 children and ten parents! Our record number before was 76. Our high day this year was 96 not counting workers. All together we had 115 children attend. My personal goal was 100. We had almost 30 children make a decision to accept Christ including some of our church kids.
Everyone worked hard to get kids out, especially the kids; but Valdimar, the retired military officer who runs the route, filled our van to over 30 kids on some days. The new couple that came from the States, Luis and Edith, really pitched in. It is nice to have a couple with experience in serving in an independent Baptist church. Luis found a job as a bodyguard.
This last Sunday two families from a convention Baptist church that has problems started attending ours. The father of one of the families and his children were here for the whole week. It seems like God is giving us new families about every week.
