Great Sermon! This sermon reminded us how blessed we are to have God's Word written and not subject to the distortions which are apt to creep in as a consequence of human depravity and time. Westminster Confession Chapter 1.1: Although the light of nature and the works of creation and providence do so far manifest the goodness, wisdom, and power of God, as to leave men unexcusable;(a) yet are they not sufficient to give that knowledge of God and of His will, which is necessary unto salvation.(b) Therefore it pleased the Lord, at sundry times, and in divers manners, to reveal Himself, and to declare that His will unto His Church;(c) and afterwards, for the better preserving and propagating of the truth, and for the more sure establishment and comfort of the Church against the corruption of the flesh, and the malice of Satan and of the world, to commit the same wholly unto writing:(d) which maketh the Holy Scripture to be most necessary;(e) those former ways of God’s revealing His will unto His people being now ceased.(f)
Great Sermon! At the time this sermon was preached, Rev. Dilday stated that polygamy was not much of a controversial issue in our day. Sadly, there have recemtly been some promoting it in Christian circles. This sermon stands as a much needed correction to such false teaching.
Glory be to God and thank you! Dear Dr. Dilday,
Greetings from England, UK. I’ve been listening along to your series on Chronicles with fascination and great encouragement, albeit some weeks behind (cf. John 21:8-9).
Listening to these sermons has been like travelling back in time to the Antediluvian and Postdiluvian days, you have really brought it to life for me, thanks be to God through the Lord Jesus Christ and thank you!
Yours in the best of bonds,
Carl H (England).
Great Sermon! Pastor/Teacher Steven Dilday is quite simply the best I've had the pleasure to listen to on SermonAudio! This is just one example of a myriad of sermons that are superb. Do not miss his God given faithfulness to our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus, Jon
Great Sermon! So blessed and encouraged by your sermon. Especially during this time of isolation from my church family. Praise the Lord for preachers who are truly reformed.🙏🙏❤️
Great Sermon! But Sermon Is Cut Off. I posted this last week but there is no reply. You might have missed it. Here it is again:
Greetings. I am listening to this Revelation series these past few years and is greatly blessed by it. Apart from the "The Tree of Life, Part 1" sermon which is missing the actual sermon (https://www.sermonaudio.com/sermoninfo.asp?SID=51101934271), there is no further problem thus far.Â
But sadly, this sermon which I heard about two weeks ago "Idolatry, and Observations on Providence" has a problem, it is cut off, ended suddenly in the middle of the sermon.Â
If it is a technical issue, I hope it can be resolved as soon as possible. But if it is a recording running out of tape, for example, then it is so sad, as it is a gem of a sermon.Â
Thanks for looking into this and I pray that it could be restored somehow.Â
7 Thunders from the 7 Hills of Rome Harold Barton in "It's Here: The Time of the End' (1963) also agrees with Elliott that the 7 Thunders are Papal thunders against the Protestant Reformation.
"The 'usurper' immediately replies to the loud cry of the angel which symbolizes the going forth of the Word of God to the people, uttering seven thunders from the Papal throne. John understood what the seven thunders spoke but was forbidden to write them, for they were not authoritative and did not come from God. If he wrote them they might be regarded as worthy of attention. These were, no doubt, but the often-heard thunders of the Vatican, which proceeded from the seven-hilled city of Rome. 'Papal thunders,' as a phrase, appeared often in the historical records of those times, so almost at once the Papal thunders made themselves heard in an effort to intimidate the Reformers and the people." (pg. 158, 159)
PDF Corrected & New Dilday Course On Revelation Hezekiah: The PDF above has been corrected. By the way, Dr. Steven Dilday is also now offering a new course on the book of Revelation at https://www.fromreformationtoreformation.com/.
Great Sermon! Greetings, and thanks for your reply. I am very sad to hear that the MP3 has been lost. But I was filled with excitement concerning the PDF. But I am sorely disappointed that when I both clicked to view the PDF and downloaded it as well to view, there is nothing in the one-page PDF but these words: "(ii) dependent."
Please spare your time to look into it, and I pray that we could have Dr. Dilday's notes on the sermon soon.
Thank you.
Dr. DIlday's Notes In PDF Added, MP3 Not Available Hezekiah: According to Dr. Dilday the MP3 for this study has been lost. However, Dr. Dilday has graciously provided his notes, which we've added as a PDF, above, and which we pray will be a blessing to you and all who are working their way through Dr. Dilday's excellent audio commentary on the Book of Revelation. Another great free audio set, which contains 22 free MP3s on Revelation, of 44 total MP3s on Biblical Eschatology, can be found on SermonAudio at http://ow.ly/zXpA30eb9pz.
"Now, Christians, the more great and glorious things you expect from God, as the downfall of antichrist, the conversion of the Jews, the conquest of the nations to Christ, the breaking of all yokes, the new Jerusalem's coming down from above, the extraordinary pouring out of the Spirit, and a more general union among all saints, the more holy, yea, the more eminently holy in all your ways and actings it becomes you to be." - Thomas Brooks, The Crown and Glory of Christianity, 1662, Complete Works, 1867, p. 444, as cited in Iain Murray's, The Puritan Hope: Revival and the Interpretation of Prophecy, p. 84.
And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the Lord's house shall be established in the top of the mountains ... and all nations shall flow unto it. Isa. 2:2, KJV
Wrong sermon. Same as previous sermon 'Ears.' Greetings Pastor Steven Dilday. We have been blessed by your sermons. Our family is using your sermons on The Book of Revelation for our family worship. We are willing to go through all of them, taking probably 5 years or more (till chapter 10 and more as you add them to the series, if God be willing). We have thus far reached the sermon entitled "Ears," Revelation 2:7, preached on 4/11/2010 (SUN). The downloaded filename is:
"2010.04.11.A Ears - Pastor Steven Dilday - 41810184577.mp3"
So we are anticipating with impatience to hear the next sermon in the series entitled "The Tree of Life, Part 1" preached on 4/25/2010 (SUN). But we were sorely disappointed that the sermon on the "The Tree of Life, Part 1" is the same as the sermon on "Ears."
I believe that there is a mixed-up in the files. Though the downloaded file has the correct filename, "2010.04.25.A The Tree of Life, Part 1 - Pastor Steven Dilday - 51101934271.mp3", the playback is on "Ears."
I hope this technical problem can be corrected as we are so very hungry and eager to learn and to eat of The Tree of Life.
Thank you and may the Lord be with you and yours.

Great Sermon! Thank you pastor Steven for your sermon. It has moved me greatly, as an elderly lady who has suffered so much over so very many years with chronic painful illness and disabilities. Yet I know God has chosen it for me. I have been a Christian for 40 years. My husband is my carer and we are one in Christ. What a blessing! I regret I cannot always count it all joy, yet to know Christ is joy. At times it seems just more than I can bear yet I know He is with me.
Whatever your sufferings are, remember that it is our sacrifice to our wonderful Lord and however long it may be, it is short compared to eternity. God richly bless you and sustain you in your ministry.
Love English Rose
I recommend this sermon! This is a good, biblical and practical message about the roles of husbands and wives. I recommend this message for everyone, but especially those who are considering marriage. Husbands and wives would do well to follow the biblical principles that Pastor Dilday teaches in this sermon. This sermon is packed full of very good practical principles to apply to daily life by God’s grace!
