“ Great Sermon ” Good message! I pray that abortion would be illegal. I will be voting for Trump. It will be far easier working with Trump than Kamala. We have to fight for abolition but also take the small victories over no victory at all. The democrats didn’t get gay marriage immediately. It was done in steps. The state rights issue hasn’t outlawed abortion but it has saved some lives. Every day here in Texas there are stories of lives saved because it has been made more difficult to get an abortion. I do wish you well and thank you for preaching this message!!!
“ Great Sermon! ” Professing Christians need to listen to this sermon. Are we truly trusting in the finished work of Christ and faithfully following Him through His word given into us, or are we trusting in a “decision” from years past and living a life of friendship with this world and living in enmity against God?
“ Better to put the ax at the root of the issue ” God’s revelation to mankind comes punctuated with extra â€signs and wonders’ that introduce important stages.
For instance, the giving of the law was accompanied with a spectacular display of lightning and thunder at Sinai never to be repeated, God’s Son coming into this world was backed by the heavenly praising host and a guiding star, while the coming of the Holy Spirit upon the church was marked by tongues of fire.
However, in our feebleness, we become fascinated with the secondary to the point of missing the main thing.
For instance, we would have considered it improper if Israel had enacted a yearly celebration of the spectacular display at Sinai instead of practising its teachings, yet every year thousands are taken with the angels, the shepherds and the wise men--the secondary features of the Christmas season—as points of commemoration, missing out how such are only the staging points God chose when introducing His Son into this world.
“ Tough subject—Great sermon ” Thanks for the willingness to address a tough subject. Perhaps if more elders preached on this subject, churches would be better off.
“ Oustanding Sermon! ” This sermon is not merely a defense of a correct soteriology (though it is that), it answer the question "Why is a correct soteriology so important?" In a world where far too much Christian doctrine is watered down, this is greatly needed. Thanks for sharing!!
