God has yet more light..... Thank you brother, for your painstakingly careful and honest examination of Scripture for us in these 3 expositions regarding the Headcovering. There are few today who are prepared to lay aside the popular and comfortable systems and interpretations of men,and especially their own long-held views, and really...'let God be true...' You have set this issue in its proper context and like many other Scriptures, we glean valuable lessons from it. Our outward appearance before men ought to bear testimony to the Gospel, but it is our hearts that bear testimony to God...not primarily our outward acts. It is true, we do not obey the Holy Kiss injunction...why? Also,
has anyone else noticed that in 1 Corinthians 14:28 men are also to keep silence in the church. This would appear to mean that silence = not speaking out of turn and inappropriately..as also in 1Timothy 2:11&12. These are not forbidding the spiritual exercises of prayer and prophecy but upholding headship, order and decency in life and worship
Rating Scripture at bay If and when a topic is mentioned only once or more times in Scriptures, it is not our pregoratory to grade its importance, as basic or irelevant by such criteria. For instance, we are told that the law says that women should not speak in the assembly, "Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as *also says the law*. But where in the law is this said? It is the context of the whole revelation that points to this fact and practise, rather than a precise chapter and verse. Perhaps it should pertain us to better rate rewards than Scriptures following the guidance of this verse, which by the way it is only mentioned once also: "Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven."
Great Sermon! Thanks for this, preacher. I've been asking for and waiting for sermons like this. Sometimes when I say the model prayer, I don't make it through without crying, and it reminds me of some passage where the spirit prays for us in ways we don't know. I think if I were to look for the passage, I would search the word "groanings". Do you know which verses to which I am referring?
Most Cherished Sermon! What a visceral, palpable description of one of the most important events to have ever in all time to have occured. Bless you, and bless Jesus.
New earth. I believe Ezekiel 47 must be interpreted in light of Revelation 21 and 22, and that Ezekiel 47 will be fulfilled on the new earth, not the Millennium. I believe there will be no Millennium, but a new heaven and a new earth.
Great Truths! This is the type of sermon that we all need to hear, well.....at least I do; I can't speak for others. The Word of GOD shows me how utterly inadequate I am. I must strive to be more like the example my Lord, my God has given us. Thank you Pastor Lewis for always bringing us the truth.
Very Well Explained! Thank you for a thoughtful and well-presented exposition of the parables. What an incomparable treasure is our Savior Jesus Christ!
Great Sermon! Praise be unto God for the victory we have in Christ and that greater is He that is in us that he that is in the world. Thanks, brother for this great message.
Very Deep Sermon! Unforgiveness is one of the most hurtful sins we can feel. As much as Jesus Christ has forgiven us how can we not let forgiveness be a part of our life? Whether we have sinned the other or they have sinned against us, forgiveness should be a part of our life if we want peace. Forgiveness is a very complex event and covers much hurt, but whatever it is in our life, we must ask God to help us see and understand how it's affecting us and to help us remove it from hurting us anymore. The Holy Spirit will help us if we ask Him.
excellent! much needed Pastor Kiger points out the importance of having that hope of seeing Christ and having within the love of holiness and purity, especially pointing out that if these things are not present we have reason to question our faith, it should be obvious but many just go their carefree way
Great Sermon! I love hearing God's word preached. Brother Kiger is a dynamic speaker who demonstrates a great knowledge of the scripture. I've heard him many times in person but I can't get my computer to pick up a "louder version" of his speaking. I know brother Kiger speaks loud enough. I don't know whether the problem is with my computer or the recording. Regardless, thank you for publishing his sermons!
