“ Great Sermon! ” A much needed reminder of our terrible adversary, the devil, who goes about "as a roaring lion...seeking whom he may devour,"(I Peter 5:8) and also of our mighty intercessor and advocate with the Father, the Lord Jesus Christ. How we need Him to sustain and preserve us through the spiritual battles of this life!
“ Great Sermon! ” Though we meet with many difficulties and disappointments, and fall short in many ways, yet our gracious Lord will prove faithful to recognize our service to Him. Service to Christ is always worthwhile. Always.
“ Great Sermon! ” How can we selfishly seek our own interests and glory when the Lord Jesus Christ has suffered and died to redeem us? How can we not offer our bodies a living sacrifice (Romans 12:1)for the one who sacrificed Himself for us?
“ Great Sermon! ” Joy and peace in believing! So thankful that Christ knows and keeps His sheep, even when their own hearts condemn them and their faith is weak. What a wonderful Saviour!
“ Outstanding Sermon! ” Evil, however pervasive and powerful it may seem to be, is not sovereign. God is sovereign, and He rules and reigns over all. "Surely the wrath of man shall praise thee: the remainder of wrath shalt thou restrain." Psalm 76:10Â
“ Great Sermon! ” We're always busy preparing for so many things in this life, and yet we forget to prepare for the only true certainty, which is the Day of Judgment.
“ Great Sermon! ” "For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you." (I Peter 1:24-25)Â
God's Word is absolutely trustworthy, and all its prophecies and promises will be fulfilled. Did you know that it has promises for believers, and also for unbelievers?
"He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him." (John 3:36)
"Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:Â Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon."Â (Isaiah 55:6-7)
“ Great Sermon! ” All those who love the Lord Jesus eagerly await His return at the Last Day, but those who are His enemies are filled with dread at the very thought of it. What will that Day be to you?
“ Great Sermon! ” Sooner or later, judgment will fall on unbelieving individuals and nations. Nations which do not serve the Lord Jesus Christ will be judged in this world, and individuals who do not believe on Him are subject to judgments in this life, and also everlastingly in the world to come. The only escape is through belief of the Gospel, which God has so graciously provided to our sinful world. Have you believed? Are you trusting the Saviour?
