“ Great Sermon! ” Stingy, reluctant, and for show, or generous, cheerful and motivated by love for the Lord Jesus? What does your giving say about your heart? What does it say about the value you place on the glorious Saviour of your soul?
“ Great Sermon! ” We live in a time when there are many false teachers, and we must be careful to identify and avoid them. Equally important, we must be careful live out sound doctrine, lest we become puffed up with pride.
“ Very challenging Sermon! ” It seems to me that far too many of us don't put enough thought into the whole issue of Biblical worship. Truth will not be discovered by majority vote but by prayerful, sound exposition of the Word of God. Truth remains truth - regardless of how many agree.
“ Great Sermon! ” Satan has always attempted to silence the message of Christ and His Gospel, but Christ is our victorious, conquering Saviour. Never be silent about Him!
“ Great Sermon! ” Yes, there are hundreds of languages which remain without a Bible translation, and instead of investing our time, money and abilities into this important work we squander our resources on producing inferior English translations to supplant the clearly excellent King James Version. How will we ever answer to God for this poor stewardship of His precious Word?
“ Great Sermon! ” Human reason, unaided by the Holy Spirit and the light of Scripture, will inevitably lead us to wrong views of God and man. A sincere desire to know the truth will lead to humble, prayerful, study of the Bible. Lord, give us such humble hearts!
“ Great Sermon! ” Oh! The idolatry, unbelief, and folly of the fear of man! How much rather ought we to fear God! "The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe." (Proverbs 29:25)
“ Accolades Do Not Matter ” This sermon defeats any worldly notion of prestige. The obvious fact is that accolades like Olympic medals do not matter, yet the world treats such things as if they matter when they do not. It is important to remember 1 Timothy 6:7 in times like these. At birth, people bring nothing into the world and at death, people carry nothing out of the world.
“ Great Sermon! ” If we only understood the depth of depravity and wickedness within the hearts of even the "nicest" people, we would more fully appreciate the mighty power of the Holy Spirit in the conversion of a sinner to Christ. What a glorious work of grace is the believing heart!
“ Great Sermon! ” With characteristic vigor and clarity, Rev. Silversides corrects false teaching on this controverted subject and establishes true, scriptural doctrine.
“ Outstanding Sermon! ” A question for religious hypocrites, agnostics and atheists: Do you desire expediency and the maintenance of the status quo, or do you desire to know, believe, and obey the truth? Stop pretending and be a real seeker of truth.
“ Great Sermon! ” Many turn to a Jesus of their own imagining in hope of gaining temporal benefits. They fail to see that health and material prosperity are small things compared to the great benefit which the real Jesus died to secure for His people, which is the salvation of their souls from sin. “ Great Sermon! ” "And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart." (Jeremiah 29:13) What a wonderful thing it is that Christ saves sinners who seek after Him! Â
