Thoughts From America

“ A Post Election Must Hear ”
There are a number of reasons why I am drawn to Pastor Dykstra's preaching, but first of all - I always learn a lot. He is one of my favorite Reformed Baptist preachers and exegetes. The amount of material he reads and uses in his sermons to stress a point is really impressive. There is almost a dilemma as I thought about commending this sermon... if I give a lot of detail about his examination of Islam - the new fascism, could it be that I am drawing unwanted attention to this sermon? Who doubts that taking a stand against the Islamic religion, or exposing what a bloody demonic religious counterfeit it is won't endanger someone's life even. Example, the recent assassination of Van Gogh in the Netherlands. Very enlightening.

“ Great Sermon! ”
Great expository preaching! So many practical points Pastor Dykstra gleaned from this portion of Scripture. May the Lord continue to bless this man of God.

Thoughts on Mel's Movie

“ Informative Sermon with lots of facts ”
The preacher is clearly pointing out that there are major differences between the doctrines of Roman Catholicism’s Salvation and the Biblical message of Salvation. He shows that even though the movie can be used for good it's main thrust is pushing heavily on "non scriptural" Roman Catholic traditions and doctrines. This preacher shows that this movie goes miles beyond what the Bible does in its graphic obsession with physical suffering. Also much mystical attributes given to the Virgin Mary. I myself saw the movie and one scene that disturbed me was that as they were erecting the crucified Christ upright they lost balance and dropped the whole cross with Christ nailed on it so it went forward smashing Jesus body to the ground face first with the weight of the wooden cross crushing Him a massive blow. None of this is in the Bible. The Bible gives very little detail of how the torture was carried out. This preacher is not against Roman Catholic people but enlightens us about why Mel Gibson (who does what he believes in ) made this movie. He asks us some hard questions About why Evangelical Christians like it so much? Gavin Langley

Not to mention the gross historical inaccuracies of "Braveheart". I am continually perplexed by preachers who condemn historical inaccuracies in the Passion movie, but effectively endorse historical inaccuracies as legitimate in secular movies... We need to have one standard and one set of weights and measures.

“ Good Sermon, BUT... ”
For the most part, this is a good message that documents the problems found in and caused by the "Passion" movie. I only take issue (and was also a bit shocked,) with the speakers endorsement of the other Mel Gibson movies such as "Braveheart", "The Patriot" and the "Lethal Weapon" series. These movies in one way or another promote ungodliness and sin among other vile things by portraying faithless living, fornication, cursing, adultery, foolish talking, covetousness, revenge, gratuitous nudity and violence, disrespect of authority, pride, drunkenness, foolishness, profanity etc. in characters that are presented to us as heroes of these films. We believers have grown too comfortable with what the world offers while the Bible is clear that we are to be holy and separate from the world. The Church needs to see the seriousness of this and repent because judgment is coming and it will begin with us first!

“ Must hear on Sodomy! ”
This message is very scholary and has a lecture style to it but it really hits on important historical truths that really show how the mainstream media skips over alot of truth about sodomy. This is a sermon to burn on a CD and hand out to even non-chrisitans that are pro-sodomy.

“ Wisdom and Balance ”
This sermon is delivered in both Wisdom and Balance. Great discernment is displayed, the Word of God upheld, mercy and guidance extended to the babes in Christ, and to other professing Christians whose discernment has waned. This is a movie that I have not seen simply because I have had no desire or need to see it. Pastor Dykstra did see the movie, and based this Sermon on his observations of it. He methodically points out the implications of major scenes in the movie and how they contrast with the Word of God. The fact that the Film was produced by a company called ICON, inc., and that icons began appearing very early in the movie are keen observations. I was beginning to think I was becomming overly "religous" because of those types observations. Now I know that I am probably not the only Christian in the world who is alarmed that even Christians see nothing wrong with watching a t.v. show titled "American Idle". These forms of subtle, yet blatant enough symbolism are the beginings of outright lawlessness creeping in to our culture.

“ Wisdom ”
Another timely and straight forward message delivered by Pastor Dykstra. This message is a blessing of Wisdom. Aside from the obvious teachings indicated by the Sermon title, Pastor Dykstra goes further and imparts extra jewels of Wisdom for those with ears to hear. The message delivered puts me in mind of the Wisdom that Yeshua exhibited when he simply knelt down and wrote in the sand (John 8:1-9) as opposed to giving the hasty answer that the scribes and pharasees sought to elicit from him. Despite the perplexing times in which we live, we must still speak the Word of God. And because the times in which we live are so very perplexing we must use Wisdom in all that we do and say. Pastor Dykstra is a mighty man of God.

Envy and Malice

“ Even if you only think MIGHT be harboring Envy/Malice . . . . ”
This is an indept look into the matters of envy and malice. I would implore anyone to listen to this sermon even if you are not sure whether or not you might be filled with envy and malice towards others or another. The condition of the Heart, a clean Heart, is too important to allow so impure an indulgence. This is solid teaching, based on the Word of God. After listening to this Sermon, you will know how to pray for yourself if you have been given to envy and malice; and, you will know how to pray for others, those whose envy and malice you might yourself be a target of.

“ Great Sermon! ”
I WISH THE ENTIRE WORLD COULD HEAR MESSAGES LIKE THIS ON A REGULAR BASIS. MULTITUDES WOULD LIVE MORE SOBER AND CIRCUMSPECT LIVES. THERE WOULD BE MORE GOOD WORKS, MORE CHARITY AND FAR MORE CONCERN FOR REACHING THE LOST WORLD WITH THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST IF MEN AND WOMEN DAILY PONDERED THEIR FINAL DAY OF RECKONING. ALL DAY LONG NOW I CONTEMPLATE MY "RENDEZVOUS WITH DEATH" AND WHAT IT WILL BE LIKE TO APPEAR BEFORE THE OMNIPOTENT AND OMNSCIENT KING WHOSE GAZE WILL BORE STRAIGHT THROUGH ME. THANK YOU PASTOR AND I AGREE WITH YOU WHEN YOU SAY THAT MINISTERS WHO FAIL TO REGULARILY WARN THEIR CONGREGATIONS ABOUT THE FINAL JUDGEMENT AND THE EVERLASTING IMPORTANCE OF THE LIFE THEY LIVE HERE BELOW ARE NO FRIEND OF THEIR FLOCKS SOULS.

“ Great Sermon! ”
I am glad I discovered David Dykstra. I give this sermon 5 stars. This is the second sermon from Rev Dykstra I have listened to. Last night I listened to "The Religion of Man and The Gospel of God." Like this sermon it was well thought out and masterfully delivered. I might just listen to all four pages of this man's sermons.

“ Great Sermon! ”
Your sermon was one of the clearest and most biblical explanations of a subject that psychologists, sociologists and Court TV have failed to address, namely, how seemingly ordinary people can do such horrendous things. One unfortunate reason we can expect more "Dahmers," "Kleibolds" and other atrocities is the false belief that man is essentially good. Your sermon also clarified what has become a growing debate among Christians of whether unegenerate man is truly capable of knowing that God exists and has established right from wrong. I was greatly blessed by your message.

“ Great Sermon! ”
Dave I wish our Supreme Court Justices had listened to your sermon on "a depraved mind",before they voted,on allowing virtual child pornography. I quote part of a letter to the editor of our local morning paper "Whatever happened to protection of morals as part of the general welfare? This is one more example of majority views being subjugated to some imagined "right" of a minority, and this time; an evil one at that. Worse, who knows what other vile pursuits from this twisted decision?"
