Great Sermon! I like the title of this sermon. It helps me to keep a proper focus on God's reason for gifing His people. Not for my edification but others. I also like what was said about people seeking a special experience with God, and some churches trying to meet that felt need.
Great Sermon! Enjoyed this lesson very much. Even though I have heard much about Luther, I learned something new I had not heard before. Thanks, Jeff.
Great Sermon! This is a very good message. I thank the Lord that he restored this brother and that many will be blessed by what he has to share, I have been.
Great Sermon! Rewards for the Christian, how wondrous is that considering that all we are, all we have and all we do, that is of any good, is from Him. All rewards must pale when compared with what we have already received in Christ our Savior, our all in all. Perhaps, it may be that we will receive more of Christ and yet is that possible??
How generous is our God to say, to the one who has, more will be given!
This sermon is really good, it keeps rewards in there proper perspective. It's easy to let pride and selfishness (works) creep in when this subject is brought up in conversation or to have its proper meaning lost when preached. This is a really good sermon.
Great Sermon! It's pretty sobering to think that one's prayers could be hindered. But, it's true. This Pastor has a keen insight into what it takes to make a relationship work and be obedient to God, resulting in blessing both for God's people and for God's glory.
I would encourage women to listen to this sermon even though it's directed to husbands, it's very edifying. For example, he says that men lead and women submit, and being in submission places a person in a state of vulnerability. I never thought about that before, especially in reference to her "being a weaker vessel", but it's okay because we are in the plam of our Lord's hand, nothing to fear. This sermon is packed with really good pratical advice for husbands and wives, I know from being married for 26 years that what he says should be taken to heart.
Great Sermon! I can't express enough how much I benefited from this sermon. I truly believe this Pastor has properly brought forth the proper meaning of these most misunderstood verses. To be honest it is a relief because some of the things I have heard over the years have seemed pretty strange. I have even told other people the wrong meaning of these verses. If you are interested in hearing a very well researched, common sense, exposition of 1 Peter 3:18-20, you'll be glad you listeded to this sermon.
Great Sermon! The title of this sermon is great, Gideon truly was a reluctant hero. I loved hearing how God worked through this man, also that his life carries encouragement and lessons for today so many years after he went home to be with the Lord.
Great Sermon! The greatest blessings any man can have are when he becomes convinced there is no other place to go but God, and no other means of salvation than the Lord Jesus Christ.
Great Sermon! I've noticed some confusion, over the years, in myself, and other Christians about our liberty in Christ. This sermon and the other "Limits to our Freedom" clears up a lot of that confusion so that we are free to worship God and love one another better, I'm blessed to have heard it.
Great Sermon! I liked the two questions asked at the beginning. First, what is love? And second, what is the brotherhood? The rest of the sermon is very good also, explaining our love duties to one another, including the pastor's duties. A great message to take to heart and a target to aim for, by God's grace. "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. I found this command repeated elsewhere in the N.T. 10 times! :)
Great Sermon! This is a really good sermon. Sometimes when I try to share the gospel with others I have so much information in my head and so many ways in which to say it that I trip over my own tongue, so to speak. These three words help me to focus and remember not to give meat to babies. I really appreciate this message, I will be able to focus better when sharing the gospel with others.
Very Good Sermon Very good councel not only for graduates, but for all people everywhere. If you want to encourage a young person, starting out in life, this is a very good message to share with them.
Very Interesting I didn't know there are six different crowns for believers spoken of in the New Testament. I feel equipped to speak on this subject now as Pastor Marquedant did a great job explaining some very difficult passages. Passages that on the surface seem to suggest a literal crown for a particular work. Some verses that are easy to misinterpret like 1 Peter 5:4 where it seems like only soul winners (Pastors) will get that crown or the crown for those who "love His appearing" in 2 Tim 4:8. I love the beautiful picture the crowns represent, the love of God, a picture of the glorious future that God has prepared for His people. I also learned who the 24 elders represent in Rev. 4:4. Great Sermon!!!
Great Sermon! This sermon is very timely as many young women fail to give Biblical truths in seeking a mate. What they hear is that love is all that matters. True, love is important but a Godly mate is what it takes to work out the problems in any marriage. I pray that those that hear this message will take heed to its contents.
Great Sermon! This sermon is needed in today's society to exhort us not only to modesty, but also the attitudes we are to have as Christians. I thought there were a lot of practical applications that were helpful.
Great Sermon! What a blessing this series on the 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith is. So far the study of chapter one has given me a firm foundation on which to stand in defense of God's Holy Word. Satan attacked the word of God in the Garden and continues his attack today. I wish everyone could hear this teaching, it's excellent. It has also increased my faith as I see the unsearchable wisdom and grace of God displayed through the ages. I'm eager to continue studying the confession. Pastor Massey makes it easy to understand and stresses the importance of such a confession.
