“ Amazing Wisdom ” There is much wisdom and insight in this message. First of when stating we do not survey all religious options such thinking presupposes that the autonomous mind can exhaust all possibilities of reality and make a so-called unbiased choice as if reality had a neutral ground by which to measure all things.
Second, we don't make the choice to partake in the new birth anymore than we make a choice to partake in the first birth.
Third, but yet he still does not deny the role of the will in conversion, but embraces the dialectic as how he puts it open-ended.
I'm reminded of how philosophers struggle to reconcile dialects in the laws that govern reason. Since those laws are as the great Reformed Apologist Cornelius Van Til puts it part of his general revelation and are unsolvable in its nuances, how can we dare to expect scripture to give us mere creatures any full resolutions to any dialectics in scripture where God hasn't spoken?
